A neighbor ran over here Saturday, escaping a domestic violence situation, and we called the police for her. They came here, sat in our living room and spoke with her, filled out the paperwork, etc.

Generally you are required to have visable disclaimer signs up that forgo any required release. Guess either you do not, or they did not see them.

Im pretty sure signs that the apartment complex put up to prevent crime arent going to cover the inside of your apartment.

People always do. My brother and his fiance who both were in college drama together where they initially met were practicing lines from some play. They neighbors overheard due to thin apartment walls and the cops arrived. Needless to say despite after my brother and his fiance who both explained the situation, he still was arrested then the charges were dropped.
