2257 - wheres the ACLU?

Anyone have an opinion on why the ACLU isnt on top of the new 2257 regs?

There are some huge privacy and safety concerns for performers here. Not too mention all of the other obvious problems this will cuase mainstream sites.

I know amateur girls who run their own sites have been dealing with this issue for awhile now, but these new regs will affect all performers like never before.

Youve read all the posts on gfy about the new 2257 regs, and Its obviuos what the new regs are all about. The new regs will not stop porn. It will not stop free porn. Webmasters who think its a blessing, and that it will rid the net of free porn so they will make more sales, are obviuosly not using there fucking head. Think about it.

It will especially not stop illegal kp, of which its said to be designed for. Most of that stuff, I imagine, is hosted outside of the us borders anyways.

The only people who are going to benifit from this law, is the current administration. These new regs are being rushed into law just in time for election. They want to serve up a few american adult webmasters heads on platters and feed them to conservative christian voters, so, as someone else said best....to show what good christians they are.

People, there is no time to waste. There is less then a month before the new regs take effect.

Send a comment to the aclu, and let them know how you feel about the new regs....

Do you really thing ACLU cares about porn? Do you really thing they are going to stand up defend porn if it doesnt affect the free speech of others?

I will say this again photographers who have been selling photographs to print . Have been giving full models info for years. They will say if you dont know who you do business with its your fault not ours. It sucks very much, hopefully one of the big players will step up to the plate to fight it but I doubt it .

Why shouldnt the ACLU care about it? They are fighting against copa. Why?, freedom of speech. You think the new regs dont infringe on your rights and freedom of speech?
The ACLU also fights against the eroding away of your privacy.

The reason they fought on COPA was because it affected nonporn sites like human sexuality sites. Porn is not protected speech.

You think your schooling me?

If you think this isnt something the ACLU would be interested in, your a fool.

I just wanna know where they stand on this issue.

I think if enough people send them some feedback, they may champion the issue in court. If you sit there and do nothing, and keep trying to come up with excuses, a year down the road, you might be thrown in jail when they tighten the net even more.

How would you like that?

As ACLU of Massachusetts Legal Director John Reinstein sees it: "Regardless of whether people agree with or abhor NAMBLA's views, holding the organization responsible for crimes committed by others who read their materials would gravely endanger important First Amendment freedoms."

before the new regs, only law enforcement had the ability to retrieve the details of a performers true identity, now.....

ANYONE with a computer can buy a set of compliant photos from any compliant content dealer, and have all the info they need to track that person down.

First you spoke about free speech , porn is not protected by the first amendment. Secondly I am not just sitting around I got in the car drove 8 hrs to my lawyer ,had my records reviiewed and found out what I had to do to be compliant.

There will be a smorgasbord of pretty ladies for stalkers and sexual predators to choose from.

I know there are webmasters who think these new regs are great, but do you care about the safety of your models?

You CANNOT possibly care about the safety of your models if you dont stand up against the new regs.

Contact the ACLU and tell them whats up.
