Which would you rather have, a Lambo or a Supra? If you answered Supra, consider yourself Trailer Trash.

Supra what $30k? With $15k mods? That's 50% of the price in mods.

I bet my left nut, my right nut, both eyes and your left nut that if the owner of the $200k lambo puts $100k into modifying his lambo (50% of the price) the supra would have been smoked. It's also clear that the lambo slowed down in the second run when the supra overtook.

You can't compare stock with modified.
A friend of mine had an old beetle with modified porche engine in it, and it would do wheelies, and run like hell... that doesn't mean I'd take that over a porsche ;)

No, stock suspension. :)

I envy you. :glugglug

BTW! That was a gellardo (I hope I am spelling that right) and it still clearly blew the Supra away on the second run!

Now bring in the Murcialago! End of story!:glugglug

I actually care to disagree. Alot of it is the evolution of the car. The Supra has been so modified by so many different companies that you can go out and spend 50k on a Supra that will put out somewhere in excess of.... I think something stupid like 1800 horsepower. If you spent 100k on a Supra and 100k on a Lambo you'd quickly find that the Surpa would be faster, and if you broke something, ( motor ) it wouldn't cost 50k+ on the Supra to build a new motor.

If the Lambo had a huge aftermarket, the parts to make them faster wouldn't be so expensive. I just ordered a new factory replacement engine ( my Supra engine was getting tired with 108,000 miles, 40,000 of those miles at 550+ horsepower ) for only $2000 US. The engine is known from the factory to handle almost 1000 horsepower.

I'd want the supra as a straight line car, but only because nothing sounds better than a turbo spooling up.

I'd want the lambo for canyon carving.

Stock Lambo Gallardo is 3560 lbs, stock Supra is 3515 lbs.

The Lambo is 4wd, mid engined and has a lower centre of gravity than the Supra. The Supra is rwd and front engined.

And if you think having the same type of suspension means they handle similarly, you have a lot to learn about cars...

There's alot more variables then just that, too. :)

I was thinking more about the 4000+ lbs Diablo, it's what I think about when you say Lamborghini.

I don't think the Lambo would mop the floor with the Supra, though. :)

The Diablo is a fucking monster! Never driven one, but I know people who have - they say it felt as if it was just waiting to kill them :Graucho

If you ever want to find out what a REALLY excellent handling car is, try driving a Lotus Elise - it may only have 190hp, but on a track it'll destroy anything mentioned in this thread.

And if 190hp isn't enough, wait a few months - a 450hp version will be available soon :Graucho

those 4 wheel drive cars feel a hell of a lot faster than they are. Perfect examples are the deceased Syclones and Typhoons, they felt great but were nothing special. The lambos are nothing but luxurious rides, there not rocketships, far from it

I was just looking at used ones online tonight!

I would love to build a Typhoon with a massive turbo and a high stall converter. :)

They were cool back in the day, we picked one up for a parts truck the first year they came out. We build big block Fords and used it to haul longblocks to customers, it was a cool truck for sure

I just sold SY#289 about a year ago. Had her for awhile, loved that truck.

Had a bit too much boost in there though, blew it up.
