Warning NEWEGG.com BADEGG.com should be the name

I just "tried" to install my new 80GB Western Digital 7200rpm 8mb Buffer HD

It was bad. I called up WD they said the error I was receving was that of a used harddrive "Harddirve can't be found"

I checked to see where I baught this HD from and come to find out the same place I baught 2 Video cards from

Both 128DDR Geforce FX 5200 one made by Apallo and the other by Chainteck.

Neither of these video cards work to this day.

I am 0 for 3 at newegg

i bought every part that i have in my pc from newegg and i didnt have any problems i also know other people that have went through them and not had a problem but i made sure that i bought any thing of value with the retail warranty, did you? and doesnt newegg have a 2-week return policy? It sounds like you just had some bad luck, but if they werent willing to honor the warranties please elaborate because i want to make sure i am not taking a bigger risk than i think. thanks

I have heard good reviews also..
Thats why I baught from them.

Refunds take 15% restocking fee

Yeah I have to pay for shipping => on a 60.00 harddrive.

Pay for the return shipping =>

RMA's suck.

0/3 I am looking to charge back.

I bought a ton of components from NewEgg. Never had a single problem.

They ship fast as lightning, have great prices, and I like the way you can read reviews by other buyers on every thing they sell.

I wouldn't blame NewEgg since they didn't manufacture it. WesternDigital is who you should be bitching about. They've been shipping a higher than normal amount of bad drives this past year.

I have a friend locally who owns a computer store and he won't even carry Western Digital drives anymore because so many get returned.

I'm about 50/50 for Newegg. I think I got my first DOA motherboard this weekend. Not sure though, i'm still testing it. Maybe you should stop buying cheap CRAP like Western Digital.

Mad props to Newegg and the stock that FedEx owns in them

are you using an IDE or SATA drive?
I put my PC together last week with a SATA as the main drive and had the same problem as hard drive not found.

use the disk that came with the drive and format it then slap windows on top

Yes, I have been building computer systems for my own and for others for about 7 years now.

The jumper is set on Master.

The First boot is switched to CD-ROM or CD-RW in my case being it's the master.

As for Other problems. Video cards burnt up really fast.

I was running Asus boards ASUS A7N8X-DX NFORCE2 CHIPSET

1GB Samsung 2700DDR

built 4 PC's, all with parts from newegg.com and never ever had a single problem..

so, its bad luck and like someone else said, blame western digital, not newegg for your faulty drive. btw, did u buy OEM or retail ? if it's OEM, quit your bitchin....

I've put together a full machine, not to mention the barton 3200, Gigabyte mobo, multiple gigs of ram, video card, and hdd from newegg, everythings always great, and fedex rocks, so the free fedex shipping most of the time, really floats my boat
