I have a manchester terrior (looks like a half grown doberman). My best advice is this
1) Get a dog you like 2) The darker the better If you get a white dog he's going to get dirt. All dogs get dirty but the black dog you won't notice as well so it's not as big of a deal. Another thing is clothing and shedding. I wear dark clothes most of the time when I'm dressing up for an occassion (suit, etc). With a white animal you'll get hair on your clothes some how and it looks tacky and sometimes it's difficult to get off. However if you have a dark dog you won't notice the hair as easily.

buy an Akita!
They are proud and ignore you all the time; you have to vacuum tons of fur for about a month twice a year, whith weather station change; and they are supossed to be barkless, but they will bark their heads off (without even getting up from their comfortable laying position). I should know... I own one! but... I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT HER!!!! It sucks to love your grumpy dog so much! ;) here she is: ![]() |

Big doberman fan here (no, mine doesn't have aputated ears
You really want a long hair dog again ? I have a friend with a Landseer and this dog always smells a bit, ehm, DOGGY...maybe it's my nose, maybe wrong food, but the smell is really bad. |

Just kidding offcourse.
The first one is a Dogo Argentino, kinda "Oversized Pitbull". If that's not powerful enough, consider a wolf. ![]() |
