How many people work from home?

I worked from an office until I moved to florida.

Does working for yourself change anything or is it business as usual?

I prefer to work at home than the office. In my house i can be more in calm than in the office (too much people and movement).

Proyects go better in calm and over them all the time

It's more business than usual, in my case....I find it hard to take time off, usually do 16-hour days.

I just started working from home. I wouldn't have it any other way. I work harder now, and I get all my work done and then do my own shit. It's nice.

Have been working from home for almost 4 years now, and when I finish school I'll have to get a job outside of the house, and I'm not sure how I'll feel about it. I'll wait and see I suppose!

I work from a home office, but you probably already know that huh you sexy fucker you!! lol.. (Tell Angeleyes I said HEY!!).

For me it was a bit difficult in the begining, I had to change a few habbits, like I have an entire pad here in my office. A fridge, futon and an entertainment center. I keep the entertainment center directly behind me so I can't watch TV and keep me from my work.

The hardest part about working from home is simply self dicipline! Can you work? Can you keep yourself from drifting off and dicking around? its soooo fucking easy to do! lol..

I've got a slightly different setup. I live in an apartment ( I own the building). 2 flights down stairs in the basement I have a huge office.

So techniqually I leave my home to go to the office....I can't exactly roam my building in my underwear So I actually feel like I get up and go to work. But really all I'm doing is going down 2 flights of stairs, so techniqually I'm still at home, lol.

But yes, working from home there are lots more distractions like TV, telephone etc.. You just need to be disciplined enought to ignore them.

I've definitely been waaaaay more disciplined with my time since working with Webquest. If I'm not working on Webquest projects I've got my own network to run...so there's ALWAYS something keeping me busy.

I work from home, although if I weren't supposed to be retired, I would have got an office long ago.

Ironically, especially in my situation, I work many more hours because I work from home. Whenever I'm bored: back to the PC. At the same time, no-one credits you with working if you don't leave the house to do it.

I do find that working a more or less finite number of hours in an office, I tend to be more focused and work more to deadlines and targets. Working at home, I often worry away at things and take far longer over them than I should.

Both hubby and I work from home. We have separate offices.

We purposely bought a two story house, so we could 'leave' work.

I started working 1/2 days at home in 1994 and went to full time at home in 1996. I don't think I could EVER go back to an office environment. I get so much more work done at home - no wasted driving time (or getting dressed time, many days ), no distractions, no dealing with the office personalities BS that always seems to happen, eat cheap lunch made at home, etc.

Plus the Welfare to Work program got over 50 of my suits, lol!

From home here too, seriously thinking about getting an office soon though.

It feels like it's harder to keep a pace when I'm in my "home-space".

I have been working from home for at least a year now. I started off doing web design then graphics and I have kind of branched off into other things as well.

Working for myself is great! Its hard imagining going back to work for anybody else again! It has changed my stress level most definitely plus the best thing about it is that I can work when I want to. I think I have put in more hours per day then I did at my outside jobs but thats because I kind of lose track of time or get really interested in something.

One the hand I can go all day without being at the computer - but usually no more than one day.

I love that I don't have to fight with the traffic - I spend less on food because I don't eat out as much as I used to and I can set aside an afternoon to do errands or yard work.

So yes it hs changed for the better!

I work from home, thankfully. As much of a people person as I am, it's a relief to work in blessed silence without someone looking over my shoulder every few minutes.

I like my quiet office space almost as much as I like getting out of it to meet n greet n network.
