BT 07-23-2004 03:31 PM

Good.... maybe we won't have to walk as far to the convention floor!!

CyberAgeGary 07-23-2004 03:34 PM

Mandalay Bay will be perfect, they opened up this new tower where all the rooms have plasma tv's, even in the bathroom, and the prices are reasonable, good choice internext...:thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

NETbilling 07-23-2004 03:36 PM

Good move - I was happy when Katie told me about this a few months ago.

Mitch

BrettJ 07-23-2004 03:36 PM

mandalay is awesome. great pool. unfortunately, probably won't be using that much in january.

BT - I think the walk at the mandalay is worse

Donny 07-23-2004 03:38 PM

I'm on the phone trying to make reservations right now. On hold.

I guess they're asking if they can sell Internext Expo reserved rooms yet.

:)

Only about the 2 furthest hotels apart... :2 cents:

Donny 07-23-2004 03:43 PM

I've been told by Mandalay Bay reservations to contact "Hal" at "Rose Tours and Travel" to make reservations for Internext 2005. The number is 800-666-0696. All I get is a gruff sounding voice asking me to leave a voice message.

Hmmmm...

I guess if I had read that AVN article first I would have read this paragraph:

Internext has secured rooms at both Mandalay Bay and THEhotel at Mandalay Bay, an all-suite tower rising 43 stories above the Las Vegas strip. Rooms are limited, and a special group rate has been secured, so show participants are encouraged to call Rose Tours and Travel at (888) 491-7673.

It's too late to make reservations today. Hours are 9-5 Eastern Time M-F.

4,5,6 isnt good for me
move it back to 18,19,20
thanks

angeleyes 07-23-2004 04:42 PM

I hope the new hotel has free paramedics like the Venetian did because I'm an accident waiting to happen. :1orglaugh

The only thing I did NOT like about the Venetian was the 3/4 mile walk to the floor. (Actual distance from my room to the floor).

cool1g 07-23-2004 09:17 PM

the new tower at Mandalay, called "The Hotel" is awesome. the suites are all around 750 SF with Flat Screen TVs in the bedroom and bathrooms. and they are putting in a rooftop bar/club which opens later this year....

How far a walk is it from Mandalay Bay to the MGM Grande, The Luxor and New York New York? Last time I remember it was quite a bit down the strip?

I guess when you look at the map it is pretty far, from Venice, past New Orleans, the Barbary Coast, New York, Paris, Monte Carlo . . . . better bring my passport

King Adam 07-24-2004 12:04 AM

Sweet news. The hookers at the Venetian are getting bad. Plus, we'll be right next to the Luxor and that place has some of the best hookers on the strip.

Also, the night clubs at Mandalay Bay are WAY better and that resturant called Aeriols .. I think thats how you spell it ... well that place is the bomb. Make sure you check out the wine angels.

Whew! I was just checking Mandalay's on-line reservations & they've got January 5th listed as SOLD OUT already. Having the convention in a beautiful hotel like that & having to stay at a lame hotel like Excalibur would be gay.

Drake 07-24-2004 12:52 AM

That'll be refreshing. Have never stayed at Mandalay Bay. The Venetian was nice. The consensus seems to be Mandalay is even better. super!

Kimmykim 07-24-2004 02:04 AM

The service at Mandalay makes the Venetian look like Motel 6.

leg4 07-24-2004 02:06 AM

nice, thank god no more lame c2k!

leg4 07-24-2004 02:11 AM

Let's make this like Hollywood... since Mandalay is a little out the way... Let's talk over that hotel... completely... like the Westin.

leg4 07-24-2004 03:09 AM

take over, that is

Before assuming it's sold out, check out the other posts - I can guarantee you that at this early date, the "sold out" responses you're getting from the hotel is because Rose Tours has the rooms blocked for us :)

I was going to say that....:)

See you in Florida!

Sharpie 07-24-2004 08:06 AM

Notes:

1. Mandalay has one of the very best buffets in town!
2. There is still the free trams that cover a lot of the strip, if you are not in a hurry.
3. When a company books a convention, they have to GUARANTEE so many rooms, so room block is not a question.
4. There will still be a sizable walk, but I don't think it is anything like the Sands, or at least it is more interesting.
5. When we checked into it, they were offering $199 for regular rooms, if you took a sizable room block.

I think the change of venue will draw more people back to the show, who were tired of the same o - same 0. (at least for one year) As soon as their contract allows, I would guess the Video show will also move there.

Brad Mitchell 07-24-2004 08:10 AM

fucking sweet! Screw the Venetian.
