Mandalay Bay will be perfect, they opened up this new tower where all the rooms have plasma tv's, even in the bathroom, and the prices are reasonable, good choice internext...:thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

mandalay is awesome. great pool. unfortunately, probably won't be using that much in january.

BT - I think the walk at the mandalay is worse

I've been told by Mandalay Bay reservations to contact "Hal" at "Rose Tours and Travel" to make reservations for Internext 2005. The number is 800-666-0696. All I get is a gruff sounding voice asking me to leave a voice message.

Aaron it is true I found out yesterday and it is on AVN.com right now as the cover story. I think it is great all I will miss about Venetian is the circle bar but Mandalay is much better. You all will fingd me in HOB foundation room....

I guess if I had read that AVN article first I would have read this paragraph:

Internext has secured rooms at both Mandalay Bay and THEhotel at Mandalay Bay, an all-suite tower rising 43 stories above the Las Vegas strip. Rooms are limited, and a special group rate has been secured, so show participants are encouraged to call Rose Tours and Travel at (888) 491-7673.

The only thing I did NOT like about the Venetian was the 3/4 mile walk to the floor. (Actual distance from my room to the floor).

the new tower at Mandalay, called "The Hotel" is awesome. the suites are all around 750 SF with Flat Screen TVs in the bedroom and bathrooms. and they are putting in a rooftop bar/club which opens later this year....

Just talking about this yesterday!!!!!!!!! Have to check up on advertising prices in mags about it also.:thumbsup

How far a walk is it from Mandalay Bay to the MGM Grande, The Luxor and New York New York? Last time I remember it was quite a bit down the strip?

Sweet news. The hookers at the Venetian are getting bad. Plus, we'll be right next to the Luxor and that place has some of the best hookers on the strip.

Also, the night clubs at Mandalay Bay are WAY better and that resturant called Aeriols .. I think thats how you spell it ... well that place is the bomb. Make sure you check out the wine angels.

Whew! I was just checking Mandalay's on-line reservations & they've got January 5th listed as SOLD OUT already. Having the convention in a beautiful hotel like that & having to stay at a lame hotel like Excalibur would be gay.

That'll be refreshing. Have never stayed at Mandalay Bay. The Venetian was nice. The consensus seems to be Mandalay is even better. super!

The service at Mandalay makes the Venetian look like Motel 6.

Before assuming it's sold out, check out the other posts - I can guarantee you that at this early date, the "sold out" responses you're getting from the hotel is because Rose Tours has the rooms blocked for us :)

Notes:

1. Mandalay has one of the very best buffets in town!
2. There is still the free trams that cover a lot of the strip, if you are not in a hurry.
3. When a company books a convention, they have to GUARANTEE so many rooms, so room block is not a question.
4. There will still be a sizable walk, but I don't think it is anything like the Sands, or at least it is more interesting.
5. When we checked into it, they were offering $199 for regular rooms, if you took a sizable room block.

I think the change of venue will draw more people back to the show, who were tired of the same o - same 0. (at least for one year) As soon as their contract allows, I would guess the Video show will also move there.

You know, the Grand Lux is probably the only thing I'm going to miss about the Venetian. That's my favorite restaraunt in the whole country, I think :)

Yeah , I live here in Vegas and my office is less than a mile from Venetian and I take clients to Grand Lux alot

still way too classy for me but a nice change
