SEO Experts

Okay so I hired this guy to work with me on search engines...but I realized I will have no clue if he's actually working. I mean obviously if my site starts getting more traffic...then I'd know....but in the meantime how I do I know he's doing anything?

I already paid him half the money up front and I told him when I see SOME results I'll pay the other half of the money. Now he could have just taken my money and run...who knows.

The price I paid him is 350.00 total and half now...I told him once I start seeing some results then I will pay him 500.00 monthly to keep me on top. I dunno if I was being hasty with this guy...I'm a lil worried now, but I don't know if I should be.

Any SE experts out there know what I should be looking for? And if this guy doesn't get me any results are their any reputable people who do this?

Thanks,
Shannon

You paid $350 total to hire an SEO? What did this SE guy say he'll do for you for that little money??

Well plus it's ongoing...that was the original price, to get started and then as long as the results are good, then 500.00 monthly to maintain the position.

that's the problem. I don't KNOW what they do. I know the ultimate goal is to get me on the first page of all the major search engines. I guess I can just call the company he gave me as a reference and see what they say about him...if he was telling the truth. Perhaps I got scammed

well, you get what you pay for, and I don't know of any SEO pros that work that cheap . . . but for that money, you can't really expect a pro . . . so perhaps you are getting a good value if he does anything at all

has he made any changes to your site at all? Meta tags, site map, anchor text?

But I had no idea what the "going" price was for someone to do this. so I don't know if was cheap or expensive. I've never looked into it. I just know my PPC traffic is dropping and I'm not trying to do that anymore.

Send me $2000 and I will help you.
I know Nitechatdottv was advertising his wares for $350..
Why don't you contact your seo and ask him what he is doing.

If you put the name of your site up here I will give you a $350 appraisal for nothing.

No, there is not. However, I feel like I am still paying the same amount but getting less. I questioned them about this and it was just a big run around so I don't wanna spend 1500.00 a month with them anymore. I figure if I can just work the engines, that will be better in the long run.

I'm so mad about this right now

If you don't know what you hired him to do, you were taken long before you sent the money. I'm sorry to say, best option is to not pay them anymore until you see some kind of results. Ask him what he plans on doing and give him a few weeks to see some kind of results.

MakeMeGrrrrowl ,

Its easy, if the SEO is REALLY good in SE game, he dont work for other ppl or do seminars.

You have 2 choice in SEO game. Ill give you 2 diff samples.

Type 1 : Wireguy

Do his shit alone, and dont talk to much. Get the more info , study alot , and dont talk to much on SEO secrets. Work for himself.

Type 2 : SEguru :

A suposed SEO , but in fact more a good marketing guy who fuck n00b in SE seminars with his refererbomb php script for sale to get high page rank.. lol , if the SEO talk to much, dont hire it.

Yes, i sugest you to charge back via paypal if you see nothing

What was the domain name he worked for?

If its for the site in your sig then $350 wont do shit man.The type of site you are trying to get search engine traffic for is very, very hard to do.Takes 12 months of hard work and planning.
For some reason everybody wants to copy Jays or Hoes and they haven't a clue what it entails. If you are new to the game of SEO start of with a smaller niche siteand use plenty of original text.Don't just fill it up with links.Stop chasing the "free porn" words and get some decent original pic content.Make it a site worth linking to and then find other related quality sites with minimun outbound links on it and trade links with them.If they wont trade with you because you have no pr then buy a couple of links to get some pr.With that $350 you could've had a pr5 for 2 months.
Then when you have done all that the hard work begins and then you hire a SEO like myself for $200 hr to give you the edge over the thousands of others doing the same thing.

there are certain factors you must consider with PPC:

1. The product
2. The SE
3. The search phrase
4. The cost per click

what might work with one SE could possibly have zero results with another

It's for http://www.princessphonesex.com that's my main site. I have like 50 + domains but that's my main most important one.

Well yeah I've been using findwhat and google adwords. Now I'm NOT knocking sex.com but as far as PPC it did nothing for me. Google and findwhat have done the best for me.

When I contacted findwhat to find out what's going on....she basically said we have no control over where our affiliates place you on their site. Cause I was bidding 14 cents on a keyword/phrase and other sites were ahead of me...at 14 cents...my site was not even showing on the first page of some of the major affiliate sites. So they said well you're number one on our site, and I'm like what good is it to be number one when I have NEVER had one visitor from your site come to mine. Anyway, big run around and now the affilates are not even listing me on the first page in some cases and my bids are still higher than people who are placed before me...doesn't make sense.

So bottom line is I got scammed. I checked out the sites that were sent in this message board and I e-mailed one of the companies...I have not fully read the other companies site.

So what can I realistically expect to pay when looking for someone? What questions do I ask? How do I know if they're doing what they say they're doing?

Money wouldn't be such an issue normally but at this point until results are definite, I still have to do the PPC and I can't afford the money I pay for PPC AND just about that same amount for a SE Expert. Eventually phasing out the ppc and raising the SE money is what I would need to do, but until then....I'm a lil stuck.

On top of getting scammed....SEVEN fucking charge backs today. This guy is going to get it when I get a hold of him.

All in all I'm down 450.00 today so far. I should just go back to bed!!!!

lol, I guess that's what I was trying to hire someone to do?

If I could just read and understand, I could do it my damn self, but for some fucked up reason my brain is all backwards and I can't actually learn something by reading...I actually have to do it and when you're not seeing results right away, I would have no idea if what i was doing was right or not, so I can see myself spending weeks doing something...no results only to find out I was doing it all wrong.

MakeMeGrrrrowl,
I was talking with a friend yesterday icq and it sounds like the same guy that scammed her. She paid him $300 via paypal - 1/2 down and the other half when the results are seen. Can you post the guys details? His board name, email etc...
It Might help some others out when he pulls his scam.

Okay so he got upset about the paypal dispute. =(

Anyway he talked to me in a message and I gave him 30 days for me to see results and he agrees to refund my money if there are no results in 30 days.

I dunno....I guess if he doesn't then I lost 175.00 (since I never gave him the other half) and learned a very valuable lesson.

icq REMOVED talk to Swami

Just a heads up but the $200 is up front. It won't take an hour of phone time to straigthen you out.

For wich keyword ?

I'm sure it wont happen but he GUARANTEE'S a first page placement. I'm not still being gullible. If he does anything I will be surprised honestly, but again...lesson learned.

He's suppsoe to be working on my pages as we speak.

I did give him more keywords though...I just told him that they were in order of importance to me.

Yeah I filled out the form and it said they'd respond in the next 24 hours.

We'll see.

i'm also in SEO business (mainstream) but normally when you want your site optimalised the first thing the SEO'er must do is FIND some keywords where he can garantee a top 10 position

how? well that is the 'magic' of the SEO (but i can tell you I do it and it costs me some money

when i see those 3 keywords i tell you:

i can only garantee you a top10 position in the keywords "cheap phone sex"

My

Tb

btw SEO costs a lot

We have some companies paying +50000? / Year for their site being SEO.
