The firm and more concrete answer is take your ass out of the US and move any US servers to hosts in other countries. The US is not a country where the laws are "helpful" to adult webmasters.
This recent 2257 stuff is only the tip of the iceberg - there are plenty laws in the US where any ambitious prosecutor can terminate adult businesses overnight and have the operators chucked in jail. Chances are, that website ya thought was "legal" is not under current US law - forgetting any USC 2257 stuff.
In recent years this have been a pretty quiet scenarion - but it's only a matter of time - shit comes round in circles and the information currently available to enact prosecutions is freely available to anyone who cares to look. A prosecutor does not even have to leave a keypad to issue indictments.
