One of my favoites movies of 2004 so far.
I liked both versions, but preferred the Theaterical version a bit more

I think Aston Kutcher did an admiralble job pullling off drama and I really liked Elden Henson as well and of course, you can never go wrong with Amy Smart...

Saw the theatrical version, but not the director's cut. Any big difference?

I haven't seen it yet so that's good to know

:eek7 :eek7 :eek7

We watched the director's cut but no matter how you slice the ending, the entire movie was a stupid piece of shit. :2 cents:

I may not have had such a harsh opinion if I hadn't heard EVERYBODY giving it rave reviews as though it's a fucking cinema classic when it's mediocre at best. I can't believe people think it redeems Ashton's total lack of talent. Blech.

Now SPIDERMAN 2 . . . THERE'S an entertaining movie worth watching!! The opening credits alone were enough to knock my socks off. :thumbsup

They add in one little piece about the mother having 2 stillbirths before him and at the end the baby ends up killing himself while being born.

Sorry if someone read the spoiler, you should know better... :glugglug

I'm devastated. Favorites of 2004 so far? It's no Showgirls!

The version where he kills himself in his mothers belly. What version is that?

Directors Cut

asuna 07-22-2004 06:32 PM

other than the ending, theres no difference? I rented it the other day and decided towatch the directors cut since i already saw the theater version, but stopped it a little after they blow up the mailbox

dennisthemenace 07-22-2004 07:44 PM

We rented that on DVD last night, both enjoyed the experience quite a bit. As good as we expected from the previews and that rarely happens for us much anymore.

There are a few other small differences between the theatrical release and the director's cut. Mostly extra scenes that were added to the director's cut. A couple that stick out in my head is a tiny thing of Ashton getting raped in the jail, the mother explaining she had 2 other stillborn babies before Ashton, an extra scene of the youngest Ashton in school, and a few others that I can't think of at the moment.

Ashton getting raped in jail? Somehow I don't believe that one.
