Well, all our members that use Adelphia can use StatsRemote again. Also, after the block had been removed we received a bunch of Emails from people that use Adelphia. These Emails hadn't been delivered while the block was in place.

SweetT 07-21-2004 06:57 PM

UPDATE:

My Senior Network Engineer just finished checking all systems and we are not blocked by anyone. Just to be certain, he called the Headquarters of Adelphia and spoke to their Senior Networking staff and they assured him that we were not blocked.

Sorry, Fletch, but it looks like your girl was given bogus information. If you would like my guys to help you troubleshoot your issues we will be happy to do so....just call our Support staff at 1.877.471.9075 and choose Option 1. Someone is there 24x7x365 that will help you. If you would like I will even call them and tell them to expect your call.

I truly would like to help you, Fletch, so let me know what we can do to help!

I am having no issues.

I posted about having issues visiting Lightspeed and other Nat net sites in some other thread... i was having email issues.

To address that issue we called Adelphia.

The conversation shifted to possible problems.

the guy asked if we hosted on Nat Net, this got our attention because a, no we dont, b, we do business with tons who do!

I am only passing on the info.

Not really having issues right now except my mail but that is being worked out and has to do with mail server, nothing to do with nat Net.

I honestly do not read JBM or any other boards muc h exdept Shemps forum now, so i did not see the other thread.

I also do not use "stats remote" so I did not click into the other thread about this as well.

sorry for posting old news, but as I said, this was what we were told, today, only a short while ago.

He said it was only going to get worse, and more hosts will be blocked until they stop spyware and spam,... this was the jest of it as Cherrylula has posted.

glad it sall fixed

Fletch...

I am baffled here. You started a thread titled:

It's Official, My ISP is blocking Nat Net

but now you are telling me that you are not blocked and have not been blocked.

Why would you say that?

Help me understand, Fletch, because I was honest when I offered to help you. Even though you are not my customer I felt bad that you couldnt connect so I was going to have my Senior Guys troubleshoot your issues at 10pm at night from home just to show you how much we really do care.

do not turn this into anything other than it is pretty please.

If you were not able to hit Lightspeed and other nat net sites... you are not able to either send or recive mail, having major issues.

you call your isp and they tell you Nat net is blocked, you gonna say im lieing now?

let this die then, i was only relaying what was told to me.

there is no confusion,... i was troubleshooting my problems and was told BY TADELPHIA Nat Net was blocked, it starts and ends there.

Hey man, I personally called Adelphia and that is what the guy on the phone officially told me.

And yes we were unable to access sites on nat net yesterday, other tech issues today, but its all being worked on.

Sorry for the confusion but this is what the guy told me personally in the last couple hours. If it was fixed already the guy was unaware.

SweetT 07-21-2004 07:13 PM

I guess it is not your fault that you were lied to....I am sure that it was some lower level guy who heard something about the problem yesterday....(sounded like he tlaked to much, anyway :)

OK...I will let it go because I hate board drama more than anything....we like to quietly do our thing and for the last couple of days we keep getting put into these positions for problems that are somebody elses and you know how everyone always remembers the bad thread titles and never remembers the rest.

Oh well....its over.

They are hardly clean in terms of SPAM,

http://groups.google.com/groups?q=na...=Google+Search

http://www.spamhaus.org/sbl/listings...tional-net.com

They have 13 SBL listings but host no ROKSO spammers at the moment.

I suppose they are angelic compared to WebAir....

i ALWAYS like for her to call, the guys flirt and give her inside info, i cant talk to customer service guys myself. My girl works them like surfers.

hahaha

Unusal, they typically dismiss girls and dumb know nothings... rare to flirt with 'em, but they are human of course. Maybe your girl has a sexy voice. Was she on cam at the time? :Graucho

my girl has been a webmaster longer than most men on this board.

she is also pretty knowledgeable, i think talking to a girl who nows about servers and isnt dumb turns them on.

hahah

:thumbsup

Well when you start talking about ports and tech stuff opposed to being a looney pissed off surfer with spyware they are much nicer.

I'm still working on getting them to uncap the upstream though. :Graucho

Classy as always, T :) Hope to see you and get a big bear hug in FL! :winkwink:

SweetT 07-21-2004 08:10 PM

Ronbo...

I can appreciate your point, but the reality is that any host of any size is listed somewhere in spamhaus...it is just a fact of life. As long as there are resellers, there will be spam issues even if they are dealt with swiftly and harshly.

If you look at that list you posted you will see that we have three listings in the past 18 months and many of the people in that list have been terminated for this and other reasons....in your honest opinion does that make us a spam haven?

--T

marzzo 07-21-2004 08:13 PM

This probably expains why I only received 10% of my emails today. 90% of it is spam anyways.

Granted I was only able to login 20% of the time so 80% of the time I was pissed off.

Relatively speaking, you are not that bad. I won't call you white or black hat....maybe gray. It does look like the situation has improved the last few months. If the spammers are being completely termed... the SBL count should be going down. That includes DNS services, BTW.

However, compared to my two hosts which are pretty big, you could be doing better.

Swiftwill ZERO LISTINGS!!!
IsPrime http://www.spamhaus.org/sbl/listings...sp=isprime.com Three SBL listings, No ROKSO spammers

Theo 07-21-2004 09:25 PM

i dont like to see ISPs deciding on what you should be able to surf and not.

EZRhino 07-21-2004 10:03 PM

Thats fucking sucks, did your ISP give a reason?

--T

no, I was not implying that you were lying at all . . . my point was that with a company as big as Adelphia it would not surprise me if some customer rep told you something that was inaccurate, or made promises they could not keep.

My comment had nothing to do with Nat Net, but purely with Adelphia.

One has a good rep, one doesn't.

Sorry if my comment was misunderstood.

abshard 07-22-2004 12:03 AM

I could not connect to statsremote for almost 2 days a few days ago or any other nat net site..but now i can. i use an adelphia cable modem in southern california

pornstar2pac 07-22-2004 12:36 AM

hmmm, my opinion?
I believe that people who registered a month ago are either thieves or newbs. I rarely speak to either.

Its Easy for Swiftwill to get 0 listing on rosko with 2 customers ... lol

badmrfrosty 07-23-2004 12:39 PM

You're acting like this is a new practice and that adelphia is the first one to do it. Large ISPs routinely blackhole large supernets (/20s and larger) to prevent unscrupulous activity from known offenders who dont clean up their dirty fucking networks.

Boo Yah!

Mr.Fiction 07-23-2004 12:53 PM

Earthlink has been known to block hosts who allow phishing for the last few years.

While this may be new to National Net, the problem of ISPs blocking entire hosts for abuse is nothing new.
