I spent a month traveling in Scotland way back in 1989. My sister also lived in Edinburgh for a couple of years building an aquarium. It's a nice country with cool people :thumbsup

Once when driving through the reserve (Indian Reservation, to most of you) I was pulled over by a mule. It walked out in front of the car so that I had to stop. It inspected us at length through the front windshield, then casually made its way around to the side of the car and put its head into the back window and allowed the kids to pet it. We were held up for a good 15 minutes.

my downstairs neighbor (also one of my best friends) is scottish, hopefully we will be going there soon....he wants to take me and get drunk for a week with him..haha

Ouch!! You clearly have not seen much of Glasgow.

I agree that parts of Glasgow are not places you would go, hell some places you would be shot if they didn't recognize you, but to say Glasgow in general is a "Drug infested hell hole" is very harsh.

Its home to two of the biggest football teams in Europe, people come from all over to shop in Glasgow City Centre. They don't seem to share your opinion.

True, it is a little harsh... but that is probably one of the illest cities I've ever been to in the UK and I have been to all of the ghetto areas of all the major cities in the UK when I was a hustler - I have seen it all.

did you ever see the whole of edinburgh.. if lived here for years. and really its worse than the parts of glasgow ive seen.

your just a tourist youve probably seen princes street and royal mile. and possibly gorgie.

like every big city there are great bits and bad bits.

scotland isnt dreary. the weather can sometimes be shitty but theres plenty to see during the day and lots to do at night.

I would love to visit Scotland. I'm planning on moving back to Ireland a few years down the track. It's weird. I haven't been there since i was about 10 years old, but i still consider it home.

Asshole - what's you point? That Edinburgh is worse than Glasgow.... please.... obviously if you live in a city you will see the worst of it.

Regardless.... I wasn't visiting as a tourist - like I said I was a hustler... and I know Edinburgh has its fair share of fucked up areas.... every large UK city has... all I'm saying is that it seemed more rife in Glasgow.

Blazin, if you were a hustler then its a safe bet you would have been in the worst possible parts. Come back as a tourist, damn I'll even put you up and I'll show you what Glasgow is really like.

Ross...lol.. why should I shut up.. because I state the fact that Glasgow as a city has a very bad drug problem. Its pretty well know.

Now anyone can see a city from a tourist point of few... staying in the tourist areas BUT its like seeing the world through rose coloured glasses. :2 cents:
