There's nothing to pass. Congress already gave Ashhahahahaha the right to change the rules as he sees fit. Only hope is that SOMEONE who has big $ sues and as we all know with COPA this new rule may take YEARS to run it' course through the courts.
Maybe I should ask Yahoo how they plan to get all that 2257 info on all the images they have on their adult groups. |

I believe Yahoo will be safe with their Groups as it is technically a hosting service. Group "owners" will be responsible for their own content, just like your hosting provider is not responsible for what you publish on your sites. Hell, if they were responsible, god knows how many lawsuits they would be subject to now w/ all the stolen and otherwise illegal content they have.

GatorB - unlike copa, this does not challenge freedom of speech. that is the grounds that copa keeps being struck down on.

Well, you can speculate what will happen down the line all you want... but don't be overly paranoid, it is pretty clear that they aren't planning on holding the hosts directly responsible:
(4) Producer does not include persons whose activities relating to the visual depiction of actual sexually explicit conduct are limited to the following: (i) Photo processing; (ii) Mere distribution; (iii) Any activity, other than those activities identified in paragraphs (c)(1) and (2) of this section, that does not involve the hiring, contracting for, managing, or otherwise arranging for the participation of the depicted performers; (iv) A provider of Web-hosting services who does not manage the content of the computer site or service; or (v) A provider of an electronic communication service or remote computing service who does not manage the content of the computer site or service. |

I am glad at least one person doesn't have their head up their ass and knows how to interpret what they read. Man, there are a bunch of idiots on this board. If you follow the leader, and the leader is stupid, what does that make you? Here... let be sit down while you bash me ![]() |

As to the other poster. I'm talking about what may come down the pike. These new 2257 rules never existed 4 years ago what NEW rules will exist in another 4 years? Hosting companies are not responible NOW what assurance can you give me Ashahahahaha WON'T make them in the future? We are talking about a guy who covered a statue ourside his own office building because it has an exposed breast. |
