anyone know how to get phpadsnew to geoip target?
I see it as an option in the settings "Host Information and Geotargetting", just not sure what to put in the for the setting "Type of geotargeting database", and "Database location"
anyone use this option for their sites? Any negative impact on server performance? Go a huge influx of traffic from the netherlands, would like to serve em banners they can read and I get paid for ![]()

If you don't have it, and don't yet want to buy the full geoip database, you will need to download the free geoip database they have on their site (don't remember where it was exactly) and install it. It isn't perfect, but close. You will then need to set it to the proper database type. (MaxMind). Running the geo targeting feature itself isn't too much extra load, but enabling detailed stats is... I wouldn't use these stats unless you need them for some reason.

thanx for the reply, once it's enabled, do I make a new campaign for each IP zone or something?

Actually, you just add banners like normal, then under delivery limitations / options (after installing the db you will get 2 new options - country and continent) you set that banner for the applicable country you want to see it.

I think they tried to make that manual overly simple and in doing so made it more complicated than it should have been... ![]() |
