is that a fix rate, if you make $10k and even $10000k? Because I read the second page of the document and many countries has more than twice as big taxes than showed there, if you have bigger income than the average
thats VAT not income tax

Theo 07-20-2004 03:24 AM

VAT is value added tax of products/services. Companies in EU pay the VAT upfront and then after X months they receive it back.

hova 07-20-2004 03:24 AM

Just go to the Netherlands...........and take a lot of trips to other countries.

I'm going to Spain in 1 month, planning to stay 1 year (learning spanish of course, at the University). How about taxes if you have a student residency in Spain?

I was born and raised in Poland, now live in PA, traveled all over Europe and I would have to say that Spain is my pick. Beer cheaper than coke, beautiful women and beaches.:thumbsup

NichePay_Manny 07-20-2004 01:32 PM

I think u guys r right czech rep is the way to go.

strobi 07-20-2004 02:06 PM

I would go for spain. Climate is perfect there.

Webby 07-20-2004 02:24 PM

Mmm.. all of Europe is a high tax regime. Spain is a "has been" that ended in the 80's. Tho there is at least some culture all over...

Basic_man 07-20-2004 02:25 PM

u need to go to Paris ! :thumbsup

Webby 07-20-2004 02:27 PM

PS.. This depends on your background/circumstances - but reckon it's best to be "located" in any decent low tax regime and if you want to live in Europe - do so as a tourist and no taxes are due. You also have the freedom to wander all over Europe (again, depending on your citizenship/circumstances)...

the different from Prague is that Bratislava is not so big, but has the same old style combined with the newest shopping centers around the centre. About the costs of living, Im not sure how expensive Prague is, but for BA:
1 room apartment in a nice location: $400+/month
the prices can go down to $300/month for locations 20-30 min. from centre and up to $3000+ for luxury apartments in the old town or even better locations where you see the whole city from your balcony (on the hills around)
about the other prices, restaurants, shopping centers, theaters, cinemas, sport events, etc should cost the same like in other countries, of course depends where you want to eat :)

Andrej
