Micro financing in the third world
Hi,
I'm just wondering what's everyone's news about micro financing in the third world as a business and as a way for fighting world poverty. Personally, I think that while there are many obstacles and disaster stories that put a negative grim on the whole subject, the business potential is real. I think most corporations are either too scared or too misinformed to get into it (They think about it as charity rather than a business, which it's not). |

Business first look for political stability.
As they can't afford to invest somewhere and then have the local dictator come and take it from them. Of course, they can minimize their risk through joint venture or franchising, but why go through the trouble if it's bound for failure due to an instable government ![]()
