				 | Clear Channel bought the so-called Instant Live patent two months ago. It plans to charge an "extremely small" licensing fee -- $1 per event in some cases -- to artists who want to distribute freshly minted CDs after their concerts. Now talk about a bullshit patent

				 | Acacia are very good at public relations - in fact, that's what they do best. The defense group sucks at public relations outside of the adult industry. The defense group will probably win in court, but they almost always lose the battle of the press release. In the end, good press releases cannot save Acacia's patent. |

				 | Did you read this part about Microsoft? "Greg Aharonian, publisher of the Internet Patent News Service and founder of www.bustpatents.com, questions the validity of a patent granted to Microsoft Corp. in June covering the use of the human body to transmit power and data, or as an "intrabody communications" network."

				 | The article is actually scary. It basically says bogus patents are easy to obtain and it's expensive and time consuming to strike them down. Of 7 million patents only 614 have ever been found invalid. Certainly hope Acacia will be 615. |
