R.I.P. Joey Ramone

Just heard Joey Ramone passed away after being hospitalized for lymphoma. http://www.cnn.com/2001/SHOWBIZ/Musi...index.html?s=2 has the details.
The influence of The Ramones was huge, even if they never made it big themselves. In the late 70's they basically tore rock n roll down to the basics so it could be rebuilt. Any band that could make you want to dance and laugh at the same time were doing it right. And Joey had some of the funniest lyrics of the time. He also wrote some wonderful power-pop songs.
Sorry this isn't webmaster related.

They had a big cult following. All you have to do us see the movie "Rock 'n Roll High School" to catch it.

Personally, I never liked their music.

Bummer, I loved Joey ever since I first saw "Rock & Roll High School" so many years ago. He'll be missed in the music world...

Have anyone else notice that holidays seem to bring more celebrity deaths?

If I'm not mistaken , he got big into online investing. Was doing pretty good for himself.

One of my financial magazines did an interview with him late last year.

I'm ashamed to say with loving music all my life and listening to it so much that the old man had to tell me who he was

I just never cared for the Ramones. Hate to see any of the greats pass tho.

The greats? LLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLL

I'm sure that cover of spider-man qualifies.

Are they dumping toxic waste in Ohio?
