Hey guys, I don't have too much time on here to go through and dig through everyone's comments.
I'm not gonna beat a dead horse here and recycle all of my past comments. I agree with Blakkfrog's comments about it being a senseless act of violence, it definately is. You people are on here talking about how I shouldn't say BLACK and WHITE people and stuff like that how those BLACK people attacked a WHITE woman. WELL, why did this riot start ???? Ask one of the rioters, they'll tell you because a WHITE cop killed a BLACK man. Why does color come into play there and it's ok, but when I bring it up, it's not ok ?? I'm sorry that this post has gotten like this and I look like an ignorant jerk. I don't have anything against black people, I actually have a couple of friends that are black. The thing is that EVERY DAY people are getting killed, blacks, whites, latinos, it doesn't matter what race they are. The thing is that I don't think that people have the right to cause a riot and HURT people. If there's one victim, that's enough, we don't need to have other people's lives ruined because of another problem, that gives a domino effect. Sure, some people don't agree with the legal system, but that's all that we've got to follow, it's up to THEM to provide justice, not a bunch of ignorant assholes. Riots just cause more hurt and pain. I don't condone rioting or violence but I think that this type of riot stems from an overall sense of frustration and a feeling that conventional forms of protest are inadequate. Regardless of who is to blame, the recent rioting in the OverTheRhine area is a clear indication that things are not going entirely well there and everyone involved should work together to eliminate the causal factors that lead to this.

just as a side note to add more fuel to the fire. does anyone watch mtv's road rules vs real world challenge? basically, its a bunch of kids put together to compete on missions(ie obstacle courses, etc..) against each other. the story is this...there was a guy from norway. he knew little of american culture. well, one day he walks into the bus and starts to tell a joke. he says ****** in the joke. he was telling this to a group of people, and one of the black girls on the show attacked him physically. even after a few days went by, she said she would of done the same thing. why? is she a violent person? i hope not. but, i felt she was programmed to react in a violent way in an attempt to stand up for the color of her skin. the story gets even worse. the norwegian didnt understand why she attacked him. others then proceeded to tell him that saying the "n-word" is not politically correct. his response was "i dont understand. [one of the black girls names on the show] and [one of the black guys names on the show] say ****** all the time." i thought the worse part was when one of the other black girls on the show told him "its ok for us[black people] to say it because we are black. but, its not right for white people to say it". anyways, im not sure why i wrote that. but, i think its a great example of american hypocrisy. in the words of ray bradbury, "oh, what a tangled web we weave."

But just like all of America, we got the black part of town, the hispanic part of town, the asian part of town and of course the upper and lower white parts of town. I haven't read a darned thing about the riots except for the headlines and the teevee blurbs about it. To just destroy property is usually the pastime of sports fans. Been there a lot of times. That city has had trouble for years. The cops have a real hard time there. The threat of their live gets greater each day. These roits are happening in other sities too. For some reason, I don't no why. It usually is generated by the black community. I was living in St.Petersburg Florida on the south side where the same thing happend. It pisses me off when any race starts rioting. Most of the time they don't even know the details of what happend until later on. One person starts it and then others join. If you watch the the news footage almost all of the rioters where keeping there eye on the cameras to see if they were being taped. More or less showing off for the news media. Man, one thing that I never did was come out and call any of the blacks any nasty names. Sure you didn't call me one directly, but I took what you meant. Looking through these posts, I actually discovered another bad black instance in the news, Jessie Jackson, one of the big leaders of the blacks is fucking other women and stealing money, that's another bad picture to look at. Things is, for all the bitchin and moaning about black rioting, the damage is probably even to if not way less than the damage propigated against blacks in this country today and in the past.
You wanna talk about an ethnic group that has for decades strategically bombed and burned and destroyed lives and property in the name of their fight for victory over oppression? Ever hear of the IRA? What color are they? Many of you here may never ever know what it's like to be slammed down at every turn because your skin happens to be the color of the day or your beliefs fall into the norm or you have a penis. Because you don't know what it feels like, it may never occur to you to TRY AND UNDERSTAND WHAT IT FEELS LIKE. Why should you? You're safe. Your butt is covered. Violence is always wrong. But the kind of fire that's burst in Cincinnati came from embers that were long burning and fanned by just the right kind of flame. I agree that impatient youth plays into these tragedies. I agree that poverty, intolerance and ignorance factor in. I also believe it's preposterous and uninformed to attribute riotus behavior to one race. That's just plain old bigotry. |
