This is getting unbelivable... there are still unpatched holes in IE that have been discovered probably months ago...

FireFox

Don't you think that as Mozilla gets more popular, hackers will start looking at it more closely? Then we'll start hearing about holes in Mozilla as well. It's a question of offer and demand in a perverse reversed way

Absolutely, people will start targeting Firefox users with malware more and more.... the difference is, I can see the source code for Firefox and patch it myself if needs be. Not to mention the fact that open source software tends to get patched with less bureaucracy (= quicker) than proprietary software.

there is a reason why MS is a target...

open source projects have been hacked before, but the response and speed of patching those holes are MUCH faster than in the proprietary game, clearly....

the beauracracy in the proprietary biz is what slows it down, not lack of resources to fix shit....

PS: Glad to see a lot of newcomers and returnees to Moz/Netscape...now if we can just get more people to be willing to use other OSs as their primary desktop

Open source can get patched quickly with multiple choices, cross your fingers you get the best one.

Proprietary is done as quickly as the company wants to retain customers...
