I took ALL MY VIDEO off of my website because of Acacia. (risk management learned right here on GFY) They've cost me 18 months of restructuring and I just might sue them. ; ) [wink] SexEducation.com must remain 100% ANONYMOUS. Have you reported to Acacia yet? |
Brandon ...I've been reading ...
this is good news. It's not over but the other side finally had to take a step. The question is why did it take so long for them to blink??? The answer is - the patent office wasn't ready EITHER for the massive explosion of the information age. There is a few that have to be reversed - so what - move on. |

Charly has been a long time battler of Acacia on many boards. That is a sig (if for sale) you should buy. Very well respected on GFY. |
The battle is far from over and if you look you will find that Acacia is already spinning the ruling as THEIR victory...!
Ludicrous at best but the stupidest beast will fight the hardest when it thinks it is cornered. My guess is Acacia is going to try even harder to spend us into the ground at this point. Many thanks to Spike and Greg Claymen for their tireless efforts and huge thanks to the rest of the members of our defense group. Everyone is free to make what ever business decision befits their concerns, but if you do want to help the fight against Acacia then there are other ways to show support. If it is not easy to give money then make money with a company that is fighting Acacia and you will be helping a great deal. |

If it weren't for that, you would get very few replies at all. You're a dull poster. |

As the judge stated in the Markman Order, the defendants have grounds to file for summary judgement.... the defendants would get a non-infringement verdict... At this point, it would mean the patent has not been invalidated. The people who licensed the patent will have to continue to pay because their agreement only lets them off the hook if the patent is found to be invalid. A company would have to stop paying the agreement, which would be breach of contract, and then would get sued by acacia, then they could point to the defendants non-infringement verdict. Means more legal bills to get out of something that might have seem a lower costly "business decision" then joining the defense group. If someone is only paying $300/month to acacia, it might be cheaper to just keep paying them until 2011 when the patent expires than pay legal fees for breaching the contract. :Graucho Fight the End of the Mayan Calendar! |
