Gamers - Is the GeForce 3 worth it?
Don't know how many of you play computer games, but for those who do, do ya think the new GeForce 3 is gonna be worth the price? I have seen it pre selling for $550.00 and its not even being released for another week or so.
It will revolutionize 3d games like Tribes 2 as we know it, but is it really a big change over the VooDoo 5 card or the Geforce 2? [This message has been edited by Goliath (edited 04-12-2001).] |

OOOOH YEAH, The Geforce 3 is gonna kick some serious ass. They say that it's the most anticipated card since the Voodoo2 was released. From what I've been hearing about it, it looks KILLER.
I think that it'd be a HUGE step up from your Voodoo 5 card. If you got the money, definately pick one up. The thing is though, like they say, it all goes back to the games themselves, you need a game that's gonna use it's power. I guess that there's already some games comming out that would take advantage of the Geforce 3's power, so when games like Unreal 2 and Wolfenstein come out laster this year, you'll be set. I'll probably get mine ordered soon. I have a regular Geforce DDR card in my system now, which is a great card, I can imagine what the Geforce 3 would do for me, he he. Us gamers need our toys, he he he. |

Interesting. I just cant see shelling out over $500 for a video card...not matter how good it is. Then again if you wait for the price to go down something better will come out as soon as you buy it--- Its a never ending WAR!
Then again, i get into unreal tournament big time and cant wait for unreal 2 to come out later this year. I wanna have the best for that baby! [This message has been edited by Goliath (edited 04-12-2001).] |
