quiet - did your salesman give you any prediction as to TV life - i was looking at the plasmas - the 60" listed for about $30K canadian, but two things turned me off - 1. with a stand they were about the same thickness as an LCD - and you need a place to put the audio and sat and dvd equipment - and the second was life span - they said to me they usually only last 2-3 years and once they go they're done - that's why i went with the lcd instead of plasma..longer life span
not to mention lcd was only like $6K (ok, $10K with audio equipment) and the same 60" sony plasma was $30K...

I had bose surround sound installed but ended up having to buy stands for the front because there was a firewall halfway down that wouldnt let the wire thread all the way down between the wall and brick which sucked.
Are you going to leave the center channel on top of the TV?

no - i'm going to install it on the wall a few inches above the tv, with the wires in the wall. if the electrician ever gets here...

I just bought a 50" Sony Big Screen (a couple of years old) for $850 (Can) and I am grabbing my friend's 60" Hitachi Super Ultravision (also a couple of years old) for $1000 (Can)!!
The 50" fits perfectly in my upstairs closet. It looks like it was actually built to fit the TV. The 60" I am going to put in my new house and build it into the wall so it kind of looks like a plasma. hehe!
$1850 Canuck and 110" of TV!!! Beat that big ballers!!!
DH
P.S. Quiet the tv is soooo fucking cool!!! I'm salivating over here just looking at it

my contractor was able to swing a very good deal for me because he installs for all of the high end homes in Whistler (as well as offer me a guaranty on the TV beyond Sony's), so it all worked out very well...

Give it a few more months, and I'm sure you will have a brand new one

i bought my parents a bose surround system for their basement last year. sounds very good.
i'm installing a Rotel system for this TV. i'm also piping sound into all the bedrooms, as well as the patio (all from the same system). going to be sweet
