I am looking for a distributor for our first DVD release.

I can point you in the right direction . Just to give you a heads up it is a TOTALLY different beast than the Internet Biz . Very cut throat . On the ebay thing , Once you get distributed they whore you out on there . Here we are on ebay

Do you have UPC codes yet?
How many have you replicated so far?
Did you use the Big Boxes for the VHS?

We have approx 2000 replicated curently with UPC Code.
We did not use the bigbox for VHS, we have DVD only at this point. The next 2 in the seris is curerntly in production for release the 1st week of Aug

no u can't - the average title from a top studio sells on average 3,000 units total, a good performer sells 5,000.

LOL I have no doubt he can get rid of 1000 a week. The average title from a top studio doesnt sell for a low enough price to move 1000 a week.

uphill battle - it is an old boys network, newcomers aren't really welcome.

best bet is to sell direct to all the online DVD stores direct and set up a website to sell to surfers and take out an ad in AVN or buy a list and go after the store buyers yourselves.

what u say does have some validity - studios make more money from low cost compilation dvds than they do from the new releases i hear.

if somebody wants DVD content and can guarantee me thousands of sales a week at a modest profit hit me up. we'll shoot as high quality stuff as RLD or Zero Tolerance .
