Egh, they're one of many new companies making cookie-cutter houses on the outskirts of town.

I swear, the owner of the companies are big Sims fans, heh

If you dont mind living in a cookie-cutter community 30minutes *if not longer* outside of Vegas, it's perfect for you!

Zoe,

what would you recommend?

Im looking for somewhere 10 mins from the strip

There is an area I visisted a while back, its about 15mins away from the strip...alot of palm trees..this was 3-4 years ago though. Im sure alot of places have that now.

Whats good thats about 5 BR 3.5-4BAs, nice swimming pool?

If you got suggestions let me know

Ok, first of all I will say right now isn't the best time to look for a house. The market has imploded and everything is pretty over-priced.

Nevertheless, it all depends where you want to live. I myself prefer the East side of town.

Right now I live 10 minutes away from the Strip, 10 minutes away from all three freeways, and 5 minutes away from the Airport. The houses around me are older *made in the 80-90s* and in my opinion a lot better than some of the newer cookie cutter ones. A lot of them also have the older pools before it hit regulations *my parents live here and still have their 10ft deep pool in the backyard*

So, check out some things in the 89120-89121 zip code. Other than that the westside seems to be doing decently as well

Hope I could help!

That should cost you a nice fortune here in Vegas right now.

Everyone keeps telling me how much my house has probably gone up in value the 2 and 1/2 years I have owned it and it's crazy. The news has said houses have gone up 10 to 12 % every month for months now so it's a pretty high market right now to be looking.

oops posted about the same time Zoe and I agree. I live on the East side and got lucky enough to get a house with a 10 foot pull and almost on an acre which is great compared to all the new houses on 1/4 acre lots.

I wish I could afford Summerlin but not yet and now I love my backyard and everything so it would be hard to move to a newer house without such a huge yard. I have the biggest pool they allowed for homes and a nice gazebo and about 30 palm trees. I imagine that would cost me a fortune in a new home. We also don't really have much crime here I live on a nice cul-de-sac so nobody bothers to come down this way unless they live here.

Yeah, it all depends where you live. There's mostly good area around here with pockets of the "bad crowds"

I don't even bother locking my doors, it's really nice where I am

Probably between 200 to 300 thousand pretty easy.

That's a low guess.

I live in the Green Valley area, which is a really nice place if you don't need to drive to work or anything.

Its a 20-30 minute drive to the office everyday, as well as a headache to get to any of the colleges.

I live within 5 minutes of two major freeways, and within 15 of the I-15.

All the stuff you need is right in the area though.

Houses range from moderate to expensive in this area

just make sure you pick the right place to buy a pad at dude, lots of people hate vegas because they live in a pretty congested area

just like any other city you get what you pay for, the market is still low compared to the bay area but yea shit has gone up a lot lately

glad I bought when I did
