Either the person doesn't know what TheHun represents in terms of traffic - or it's a master plan to redirect it afterwards. Being the considerate reviewer that you are :-), save yourself the possibility of redirection & pissing off your surfers by not posting it. If they haven't responded - either they aren't getting your emails or they are hoping you will, either to redirect or to install something else instead of the movie. That's my 2 cents!

michel would know if it's someone experienced & whether they are regular submitters or someone new - if it's someone new, I'd almost bet it's an error & possibly a way to install some other type of file.

Well it's not "normal" i agree with you on that ... but doesn't have to mean it's to fuck around.

The movie could be around already for years .. and not much worth anyway.

If the person who submits that movie .. has a 10mbps line or 20mbps line or better .. and a movie that didn't cost much money --- why would he care how many people does download it ?

The more people download it ... the more people will be point on teh fact that that are the kind of movies then can expect by the site he or she promotes.

If his server is 20 mbps and it takes 15 minutes now to only get part of the movie a listing on the hun would mean it takes about 5 hours to see that same part of the movie.

It's true some people don't know the consequences of a hun listing. I remember that "owned" pic of someone who bought a toplink and exceeded is bandwidth limit within a few hours.
I also had a guy who sent a gallery with very large pics, but then was deleted by our bot after a few hours because he had some jpeg problems. I then mailed him what to do to fix the problem so I could replace him. He then told me that he prefered me not to replace him, after he saw what that gallery did to his bandwidth. I guess he was happy our bot kicked him of our list...

Here's the deal: I wrote the guy about the bandwidth, and also asked if could cut the movie up in smaller pieces.

He made some changes (so he received my mails): 5 clips of each around 29mb.
He will be listed within 10 days....

michel, you would know best if he's been around or not. Remember to keep tabs on it when it does get listed (although I know your bot does that for you) - just to satisfy our little debate (if you find time :) )

2) if he planned to cheat, would he draw all this attention to him by submitting something big like this? he could also submit smaller movie clips with little advertisement. Our eyes are on him anyway

On the day he is listed go to his gallery one hour after the update is online and try downloading one of the clips. I want to bet you a Christine Young calender that this will take you at least an hour or more if possible at all.

I would not post it, though. Either it's a mistake or perhaps someone who doesn't like whoever owns the server/site trying to crash him and get him into some major $hit!

Well, here's what happened:

The link was listed for two hours when I decided to check it.
I got a 404 three times in a row, but the fourth time it loaded.
The page took very long to load, and the movies even longer so I decided to remove the link and mail the guy who submitted it.
I then received a mail back, he told me it didn't link to a 404, and was just slow. So I replaced the link. A few hours after I replaced it, I received another mail in which he asked me to remove the link again, because his hosting provider started to bitch about network lagging.

And he was listed on sunday, our lowest number of visitors day...
