On an episode of that 'Animal Cops' show they showed a vegan bitch who would only feed her animals rice and veggie crap. The animals were starving, malnutritioned, and on the verge of death. (despite full bowls)
The animals were taken away from her and fed properly.

We feed our animals normal dog and cat food.
Humans can handle a vegetarian diet but dogs and cats can't. It would be cruel to attempt to make them vegetarian. IMOComment

My iguana is on an all veggie diet
Meat eating animals to best on a BARF diet. That is bones and raw food. In reality, a wild dog or cat would not eat veggies except for some grasses as a way of helping digestion.
Our minpin was allergic to dog food and had to be on a barf diet and was the healthiest dog I've ever seen!
