Photoshop Question

How does one vectorize images in photoshop? I've never figured it out, and am still kinda fuzzy on why vector images are the standard. (Don't laugh. I'm new at this, kinda.)

Could someone explain this for me, please?

If your looking for a quick fix then you can use the Cutout filter. But this won't give the greatest results.

and here's an ok tutorial if you wanna do it properly

Photoshop is not made for Vector Graphics, nor is that the standard. The reason the recommend it is because it is of higher quality for...shirts and shit like that. It CAN be done in photoshop anyways but is pretty crappy. Use Illustrator instead.

Use the Pen Tool in PS to get vectors.

Make a selection go to Paths ( next to Layers and Channels most of the time ) go to the arow on the right and select MAKE WORKPATH and then select and see if thaz good enough for U.
