Right now I'm using www.registerfly.com, which registers domains for $9.99. Their support's pretty good--There was a problem when I tried to change name servers a couple of days ago, so I fired off a trouble ticket. 5-6 hours later I got a note they had solved the problem and changed the server names for me.

Isn't DirectNic connected to SexShare, Majorhost and fsn.net? I've heard lots of bad things about how these hosts are being run. Maybe a reason to stay away from them...

But hey X-web, are you transfering a domain to DirectNic? Then it may be that the trouble is caused by the losing registrar (?)

I think that there's a limit of 5 or 7 days before a transfer has to complete (it's the registrars' self-imposed regulation). If it takes longer than that, it would be a failure...

X-Web

We use directnic and now have everything there including 40+ parked names.

What do you mean by transfer this can be many things in many directions. Most of the process at directnic is fully automated from your account login. Propagation time can vary from week to week is that what you are waiting for ? I moved a domain name from NS last week and it was in directnics hands within 3 days.

A friend of mine uses www.000domains.com . They are a little more costly, $13.50, but he says their service is fast and reliable.

Up until recently I had been sticking with 000doamins.com - never had a problem with them but I finally decided to try something a little cheaper so I started using http://www.stargateinc.com and again, everything has been perfect. Stargate only charges $10 per domain but if you're registering 2 or more, you can get them for $8.

rhizome, I'm just checking out Stargate... have you transferred any domains there yet? It's quite a hassle with RegisterFly (they require an approval sent by fax)
