How the FUCK do I get rid of this?

OK.. I'm tired of companies that download/upgrade shit in the background w/o me knowing.

Now I got some really irritating GOTO search form everytime I engage my IE browsers "search" tab. It used to be a really nice "plain" looking search form where I choose what kind of search it is; web, name, business, etc. Then it would shoot me to the various search sites I previously chose in order.

Can someone please tell me how to get rid of this really ugly grey search thing with GOTO label? I HATE GOTO. I had that puppy unchecked loooong time ago. And now it's default.

btw, I tried to customize it but nada. Goto is still unchecked. HOW did it become default?

Stangster

I was just laughing at your situation and then checked mine, guess what, I have it too.

IE can be fully customised for distribution by third parties and there is settings file somewhere but I cant remember where. I will let you know when I have got rid of mine , if.

Oh, and something else...

There's a default onMouseover that says "Search made simple" on every single page/site I goto.

THAT'S SOOOO FUCKING IRRITATING!

If you are using IE... click on tools, then internet options, on the top there is a section called homepage... try changing it to something else and if after rebooting your pc the assholes link comes back just click button called "use blank". Don't forget to click apply after making changes..

Ugh! That reminds me of the Comet Cursor from hell. I hate that program, I hate that I have to change my security settings just so that stupid program won't automatically load. The stupid fucks. I've emailed them about it twice, even made a website to ban Comet Cursors. UNGH!! So annoying. Here's the site, it's good for a laugh, has instructions on removing it from your system:
http://home.earthlink.net/~sixfm/comet/

Oh why can't they just leave my browser alone! d-:

Comet curser is not so bad, its just a marketing thingy and you can get rid of it easily.

As for having goto.com at the head of my IE search window, it appears to be burried in the IE configs and not in the win 2000 registry.

Stangster - I am going to download the IE service pack for ISP operators, I am told this will have config tools to get rid of the shit.

I wish you had not mentioned it now as I wont be beat.
