That's part of the problem, they's a little too civil over there. Nothing worse than people being civil and at the same time they're banning you over nothing.

Not liking someone is fine.... all well and good, there are people here that I really don't much like either to be honest.


But would I ban them?


If I were the owner of one of these wm boards, would I ban someone over something like this? The answer is without a doubt no.



I believe moderators and admins need to remove themselves from the shit that goes on for the most part and be I.M.P.A.R.T.I.A.L. A good mod doesn't ban someone for disagreeing with them. They don't ban someone for participating in a heated discussion or loud argument. They don't ban someone for defending themselves. In fact, unless there is extreme abuse or some major infraction or potential harm to the board (real harm, not this imaginary shit), a good mod will keep his or her nose out of it and let things take their course.

A: Who gives a shit who the mod likes or doesn't like? It is immaterial, the mod is there to moderate, not ban people he doesn't like whenever he feels like it.

Why post on a board where there is a mod like that? I sure as hell wouldn't.

I like moderating boards because it relieves my responsibility to post there :2 cents:

the best mods are like the best boxing refs. . . . you very rarely see them, they don't take sides, and you don't get involved unless one guy is beating the crap out of the other guy, and he can't defend himself.

Board owners and moderators have threatened to ban me on many of the smaller boards, including YNOT. Then, they got use to me and left me alone. Some boards are extremely close and don't tolerate any disagreement from new people. Once I discover that sort of atmosphere, I usually don't return.

When baddog is promoting a new program, he becomea an irritating force. He jumps from board to board with his spamming. Net-pond's Meat told him to get lost. Opran-o wasn't too friendly when he started his spamming. He wasn't welcome at Setgo, although they didn't technically ban him. I could go on with my list, but most people already know the facts.

I was banned on Opran-o by the sicko moderator, Gonzo. I hadn't posted there for months, and I read on GFY that I was banned. Gonzo is on a power trip. I emailed Serge and told him he was being a hypocrite by announcing that Opran-o didn't ban people when I was banned. Serge unbanned me. He should have kicked Gonzo's ass around the block, but Gonzo kisses ass big time.

Most moderators suck. Most board owners suck. What's a webmaster to do??????????? It's a cruel cruel world, huh doggy!:1orglaugh

Thankfully the mods here on GFY have all be pretty great from day one as far as the points that were made above go.

There are several moderators on various boards who are on power trips. Do you think they buy their tickets at the same travel agent and get a group rate?

Speaking of moderators, what's happening with AMP? I haven't seen him for a while. When I got banned from GFY, it was because I was fighting with Amp. The thing is........I like him. I like Lensman. If I didn't, I wouldn't be here.

I've never bothered with that board simply because it's unthreaded. Boards can waste a huge chunk of each day even when you are able to just read posts on the topic that interests you. To have to wade through all the other crap as well is annoying at best.

Having a quick glance I'm glad I never started posting there. Good grief. Some of those are so far up they must never see daylight or breathe clean air.
