Saw this posted elsewhere, good point.

Not a lawyer but would imagine that in the contracts they have licensees sign there is wording to the effect that licensee agree patent is valid and they (licensee) are using it on their site(s). Most likely it even goes on to say that should patent be invalidated, licensee still is required to pay fees independent of that ruling.

Now whether that portion of contract would hold up in court or not (or if it is also a breech to even challenge it after it's ruled invalid) is matter of opinion; but as these are some of the same cats that milked the on-screen tv menu and to lesser extent v-chip 'patents', IMO they wouldn't willingly play catch and release for fish they already have on stringer once judge takes their poles and tackle away...
Sucks to be a licensee.

Bah, delete nothing.

Funny how I didn't even mention his program nor did I specifically mention any program in any of my posts here, yet he out of all those sellouts felt the need to jump in here instantly and cock off like a schoolboy.

I love it.

Yes out of all the sign ups he was the one who boasted about it the most.

Some hung their heads, some were simply forced into it and some seemed proud of it.

Sucks to be a licensee.

Only thing that sucks is knowingly missing out on a great money making opportunity. We've all seen this coming and all knew that bigger porn companies will settle, but not settle before buying a truckload of ACTG shares.

I can't believe how blind people are, they seem to know it all but can't find one tree when standing in the middle of the bloody forest.

Who gives a fuck if ACTG loses or wins, you could have covered your bases a long time ago if you would have notice the opportunity. Keep fighting those windmills.

How much is their license fee and what's the current value of a $250.000 investment based on the aug03 stock price?

I am here to make money, you keep your eyes open for the bigger picture.

Yes let's explore the future shall we? Acacia wins, followed by other companies who by the way ARE waiting in the wings with other bogus patents in hand. They impose their own brand of extortion on our industry, to the point that all of our sponsors are paying 30, 40, maby over 50% of their profits out to these vultures combined.

Even if your sponsors don't go out of business, do you really think it won't have some trickle-down effect and end up biting you in the ass?

Do you?

So much for your theory. Go educate yourself, off you go.

With your money making ideas it's a wonder you're still in business.

Lesson 1
Do not feed your enemy.

End of lesson.

You dont work for Acacia by any chance?

wyldblyss 07-01-2004 12:43 AM

I love good news like that. It's time that people stand up and put a stop to this kind of crap.

Paul Markham 07-01-2004 01:03 AM

Yes these lawyers only succeed by preying on the weak and those who think it's a smart move to sign up, maybe they thought it would remove some of the opposition or even the need for so many affiliates.

Must have come as a big shock when we banded together and met them head on, the money the licensees are pying would have been better spent with the 11 defendants. IMHO.

I still can't believe some of the huge companies that signed with Arcadia, it is still quite sad. Great news though for us that didn't sign.
