Can anyone point out a single lie in this movie?

It's hilarious to listen to jackasses who haven't seen it believing a couple lame websites that don't even have an example.

The movie is mostly footage from news shows, war footage, and interviews with politicians and soldiers. Any idiot who's going to call Moore a liar should seriously consider seeing the movie first, because to anyone who's seen it you just sound like a fool. You may not agree with his editorial stances that Bush led us into Iraq under false pretenses, or that the Saudi's have too much pull in Washington, and that's fine. Too say it's all lies, although you're not exactly sure which parts, is pretty fucking childish.

The movie implies he is talkling about Al Queda and/or Iraq . . . he was actually talking about Palestinians blowing up buses in Israel

It's really very simple. Moore is an entertainer. He has a point of view/agenda and he edits/presents the facts so as to support that view/agenda.

this is nothing new. This is the same thing that Rush, Hannity, O'Riley hell, even Stern to a degree do.

Take for example a recent Bush commercial I saw. It said in it " There have been 1.4 million new jobs created since last August" This is a true statement but it's incompete. The full sentence should be " There have been 1.4 million new jobs created since last August , but there were over 2 million lost since Bush took office so he's still 600K in the hole and, baring an economic boom, will be the only president in history to not create at least 1 net new job during his 4 years"

So you can spin a lot of stuff to make your point. It's not so much a lie as it is a half truth.

If it were 100% lies then Bush would be sueing him because it would be no different than a tabloid reporting falsely on a celebrity. But Bush's dad and the Carlyle Group last weekened bought Lowe's theatre chain and it's 2000 screens. . . why the sudden interest in the movies? There must be some milk in the pudding.

And really, when you think of it, which is the worse lie/half truth.

Clinton lied about getting a blowjob and they impeached him.. ( he was under oath but it was a question that shouldn't have been asked)

Moore editing things to help tell his story and maybe telling half truths or only half the story.

Bush going on national TV mulitiple times and lying about WMD's, Connections with terrorists, Nuclear capabilites all to invade a country that did not attack us and end up losing nearly 1000 solderies lives and killing who knows how many 1000's of innocent citizens. And yet he will not be impeached and may be re elected.

Moore might tell half truths from time to time. You could call him a liar I suppose if you want but when Moore tells these lies people don't die.

They may believe in small government and less taxes, but only because both are myths that the faithful buy into without question.

We don't have small government: on the contrary, we have huge, grossly inefficient government that includes many people paid to poke into matters which other governments consider none of the state's business. Republicans may fire people in departments that the Democrats build up, but are at least as guilty of making government a black hole for public funds.

And less taxes to Republicans has only ever meant shifting the tax burden and hiding direct taxes as indirect taxes or increased personal costs (mostly for the middle class). More importantly, since WW2 Republican economies have consistently underperformed Democrat economies. Yet every election, the same rallying cry goes out.

Cutting taxes is just window dressing unless people are actually better off as a result. They are worthless if the economy goes down the toilet. They don't mean a thing if people need the services that taxes used to cover and now have to pay someone else as much or more to provide them.

Right now, the states are planning budgets to make up a $200 billion shortfall: that's almost the exact same amount ($197 billion) as was paid out recently to the top 1% of the country's income earners (an elite to which few here belong). However these budgets work out, the middle class are going to end up paying many tmies more than the few hundred dollars most of them received.

The only way that cutting taxes would be a good thing would be if it came about for getting rid of bureaucratic waste and if the government focussed on dealing with things that are truly the business of government. I don't see either party in a hurry to do that...

Yea, Michael is fat and he has an opinon - a walking charicature of the average "American", - (does he wear sneakers as well? ) However, unless you can prove he lies, - it sounds like it is you how is thrusting your opinion down some throats? I never actually heard Moore claim his movie was 100% accurate - did you?

I was thinking of making an answer to Moore's movie for the benefit of certain interested "Americans". I'm going to call it "My Homeland - My Soul Belongs Here" and have a hundred piece orchestra playing the "America, The Beautiful", panoramic vistas of wheat fields, mountain ranges and flowers swaying in the wind. There is real human life heartwarning portraits of loads of handicapped people, amusing anecdotes from real cowboys and six gospel choirs humming in the background. It's a really nice movie, and nothing like that nasty Michael Moore shit that clearly distrurbs some people with real life. It was specially made for the brain dead to avoid any need to think.

I checked with Michael Eisner of Disney and he is gonna bankroll it and distribute it for me - he's a nice man! Also FOX are going to run it as a feature once it's off cinema screens.

BTW.. If you want to see a born inbred liar - just have a look in the Oval Office - he's usually skulking around unless he's on another photo op
