I guess they figure if it's broke (and they're lying, cheating, thieving cocksuckers) why fix it...

People still promoted PIB after the news broke... Humanity is indeed getting stupider.

You live in the same country as me?

Im perfectly happy having an economical genius in control of my country, they have done very well for us last several years.

So whats the problem? Get caught up in the scandal? Media poluting your judgement?

With them now in a minority government situation they will have to work in conjunction with the other parties to get their policies passed. New legislation may not be as liberal as it has been. :D

Interesting times are ahead, of that I am certain.

I don't know how long you've lived here but the conservative government(Mulroney) virtualy ruined this country with mismanagement(unemployment was huge, the deficit was ballooning out of control, taxes were being raised etc.).

It was the Liberals who made Canada the great country it is today with a control on unemployment, running consecutive surplus budgets(paying down the debt) reducing taxes and overall making this the best place in the world to live.

I for one am proud to be Canadian.Maybe you(JFK) should move to the states I hear they currently have a Harper like government that you would appreciate.

From purely a webmastering point of view I'd say that a Conservative gov't in Canada would probably have our dollar back to being worth nothing, thus making me a much wealthier man since I make most of my income in American currency.

Of course I'm doing my country a favor by bringing all that US money into our country and spending it in our economy like I do.

I wonder if the Liberals would consider giving us webmasters large tax breaks and consessions etc, since we are being so damned productive. :D

Damn, maybe I should have voted Conservative after all.

thats one thing i would love to see, tax breaks for export type business. we become more wealthy if we can bring in more money from other countries. we have a very well educated society and we could have some pretty damn competitive global companies if our tax rates for export business was much better.

r&d and private financing need tax breaks as well. throw in payroll tax reductions as well which would help small business looking to hire.

so you are referring to the sponsorship scandal... I would be curious to see what do you actually know about the events and what makes you believe that high ranked people of the government knew about it..?

Ofcourse you'll hear the opposition say as often as they can that the liberal party is corrupted which is completely dishonest... unfortunately... some "sheep" as you put it.. dont know much about politics, will not try to find out more about the subject ... and will form their opinion based on what they've heard and what "sounded" right...

It was the Ontarians who heard Harper in Alberta during the last
day saying the power would now come from the west. They did not want this so they propped Martin up as a buffer to this
threat from the west.

First off i probably have 10 years on you, my 2 oldest kids VOTE

Secondly, you stated your opinions and then stated it wasnt formed by media or scandal, yet you wont spit it out why you feel the liberals are bad news (despite exploding canadas economy)

And since your such an old timer (implying i dont remember and i may understand when i grow up) why dont you tell us who you wanted in power, and why not tell us why?

Or, just post away complaining about it.

Maybe you should just go to bed and leave the discussion to the adults.

The last time Canadians voted in the Conservatives, they removed the manufacturers tax from corperations and the bastards landed us with the GST tax even though 90% of the population didnt want it.

Now Canadians pay 7% extra every time they buy something just so corperations can be more competitive (IE-make more money)

See now why we dont want them back in power? We are reminded what a bunch of assholes they are every time we buy something.

Had a chance to get rid of the Liberal bastards, but didnt have the balls to do it
62% of Canadians voted for someone other than the Liberals, so I'm not sure your statement is accurate. (62% balls, 38% no balls?)

The problem was the Conservatives and the NDP. They should be ashamed that they couldn't beat a government that is generally recognized as completely corrupt to the core. What does that tell you about those two parties? They blew it. The Conservatives insist on ramming the bible down everyone's throats. And the NDP refuses to come to grips with the fact that federal governments must eventually balance the books, no fucking exceptions.

The Conservatives and NDP got what they deserved tonight, and the Liberals got off easy.

I did my part... I was one of the 5% of Canadians who voted for someone other than the 4 major parties. It was delicious to register that protest vote. I'm grinning from ear to ear that the Green party got 11% in my riding where the average annual income is $84k - Liberal, Conservative and NDP strategists will go over the results and get the message loud and clear, "Go fuck yourselves!"

See now why we dont want them back in power? We are reminded what a bunch of assholes they are every time we buy something.

I love having a GST excemption number

Only idiots that think they have brains and first year poli-sci drop outs throw their vote away on protest votes.

Its wonderful if you are a large corporation selling products outside the country, But if you sell your product in Canada, you have to tack on 7% to the selling price. On top of that, you pay your accountant, garbage collector and every other service company you use an extra 7%. You arent exempt from anything.

The exception is your lawyer. Mulroney was a lawyer as are a lot of conservitive candidates. I always found it interesting they made a special clause that stated lawyers dont have to charge GST.

Exactly, a lot of people remember them as Thatcherist wannabees...A conservative government would be just as corrupt and drunk as the Liberals and on top of it they would ignore the voice of the people and have us in Iraq.

I get a refund every year from every product or service I pay GST on, whether it was accountanting services, computers, software, even gas on my car. And seeing that I was recently fully audited they accepted my GST claims. In fact, they found I made an error and forgot to claim the GST on the base price of my car so I got an additional $1500 or so back. I have never paid GST for any product or service I bought in Canada in over 6 years.

why do people hate the liberals? at least they can balance the budget...

I'm a bit young, but all I remember of conservatives in power is GST.

Harper scares me - yet I like him a bit because he is charismatic in a way. Would be nice to see Canada with a leader we arent ashamed to show in public.

But oh well.
