This sucks.

Senate hopeful Jack Ryan (http://www.jackryan2004.com) Jack Ryan stepped out of the sante race. Now, I wouldn't vote for him anyway. But the reason SUCKS.

The Chicago Tribune sued to get access to his Divorce transcripts. And he now is stepping down from running for office because he went to some sex clubs while travelling with his wife and explored having sex WITH HIS WIFE while others watched. She wasn't into it, which is why it is in the divorce records.

But, Jesus christ. That's not illegal. His wife was HOT actress Jeri Ryan (from "Boston Public")...I think the majority of americans would like to watch them get it on. And I think most healthy couples have at least discussed their sexuality beyond missionary position and baby-making.

I'm not saying the US should elect Ron Jeremy or Larry Flint, but demanding that our officials have maintained vanilla sex lives is ludicrous...and depressing.

Aren't we saying (by pressuring him to step down) that we WANT our officials to be prude AND to enforce that type of lifestyle?

I agree, I would not have voted for him based on his conservative politics.

We=American public, not GFY (obviously)

But you bring up a good point...would ANY cantidate be forgiven for a sexual history? If their politics were more liberal?

I watched them kicking this around on Crossfire the other day. It was hilarious. Begala was all over it, of course. He even managed to work in sex swings, chains, and whips.

I don't think it's a matter of requesting our elected officials be "prude". I think it's a matter of being in the public eye.

If he didn't drop out of the race, would he have won? After all the sex club stuff came out; probably not. He dropped out for his own good.
