Anyone know motorcycles?

It'll be my first bike, but I want a pretty quick one. Any suggestions?

The new Yamaha R6 is really nice, fast and good looking.
I have the R1 but it may be too big for you if you are a beginner.

Don't buy anything larger than a 600 for your first bike.

You won't be able to ride anything larger anywhere near it's potential, and it's dangerous.

What he said, an R6 is a nice bike btw, not to fast and not to big.

I just bought an '04 GSX-R 600. Read up on the new ones before you buy. Sport Rider put the new Suzuki in first place, and I love mine. Adam (my hubby) has been riding for years, and he says my bike is one of the best he's ever ridden.

We were this close to getting the new Kawasaki ZX-6 for me, and the ZX-10R for him, but went with the Suzukis instead.

If it is your first bike I would suggest you buy 600cc or smaller and buy a used one.

Also buy one without full fairing as it is pretty expensive to replace and you will dump your bike at least once.

Ride it for a year and take a motorcycle safety course (money well spent)

Also don't scrimp on a helmet or a motorcycle leather jacket and gloves.

I have been riding now for 19 years and started on a GS400 Suzuki then moved up to a 600 and now I ride a ZX-7.

Good luck with it and feel free to hit me up on icq 1904905 if you have any questions

That's my Yamaha FZ6. R6 engine tweaked down a bit with city ergos!

But if this is your first bike, DON'T get an Inline 4 engine bike!
Get a V-Twin bike, which has more power in the low-mid RPM range. It feels better to drive! The crotch-rockets are fun over 7000rpm.

I'd suggest getting the Suzuki V-Strom.

if you want something fast and it's your first bike i'd say Honday CBR 600 or CB 599, they have a reputation for being the most stable top performers.
