I just had my first meal of the day... it consisted of dry toast and english tea. YUMMY!

There are perscription pills that will cure vomiting almost instantly. My dr lets me keep a supply. But apparently, officially, we can't be trusted to buy them over-the-counter and use them appropriately. Yet another case of protecting stupid people at the cost of everyone else suffering.
gravol stops nausea. But if you drink while on strep medication chances are you won't get better and you will probably get it over and over again as the bacteria will develop a resistant strain in your body and keep returning.

Ahem... why do you throw up so much? You have to have a Dr. give you a supply of "anti" throw up meds?
I'm not trying to be mean... I'm just curious... I drink beer EVERYDAY, and don't throw up.

Because the last couple of flus were harsh. I don't want to spend several days dry-heaving if I don't have to. Then you get dehydrated and feel even worse. Once you're sure that everything bad than can come out of you has come out of you, then there's no good reason anyone should have to endure further vomiting/nausea. It's.. primitive.
Modern medicine has a miraculous instant cure that works. Why not use it?
It's no different than keeping asprin or immodium handy.
The only reason you can't just buy it at the store is because some dumbass who gets food poisoning and/or swallows something humans shouldn't consume might use it prematurely; before their bodys defenses (vomiting) have had time to do the necessary purging.
It would be nice if we lived in a society where instructions for proper use on a product were sufficent to defend against lawsuits that arise from some idiots misuse; but this is america....

Cam... I'm an EMT and I've never heard of your prob... BUT... I agree with the above. Too many people take shit that they don't know why.
Idiots misuse... but remember many patients abuse. That's why our system is so fucked. I feel bad for you, but in my 8 years of experience I have never met a patient who gave me prescribed meds because "they had a bad flu". PS.... I'm no stranger.. I've responded to over 1800 emergency calls.
