The Beastie Boys could use a lesson in how to influence people.

The Beastie Boys could use a lesson in how to influence people. I got their new album the other day and I must say, it sucks.

They went out of their way to get as political as possible which is fine. But if they want to make a difference in politics they should try making songs people want to listen to. All of their songs lacked any sort of melody, hook or personality. It was a completely soulless album and I feel like less of a person for having listened to it.

I had high expectations for it which of course led to dissapointment. I was hoping that they'd come through like Cyprus Hill did.

The tune they released the video for is kinda catchy. I wouldn't buy it though. Not a big "rap" fan.

yea I have to agree, I'm a long time Beastie Boys fan and was looking forward to this album. But I hate to say so far I'm disappointed in it.. maybe a few songs will grow on me, but nothing really jumps out at me and says this is a good song.

They probably ran out of good samples and riffs to steal, and didn't feel like getting sued again.

I haven't dug on them much since pauls boutique.

I'm so sick of these lame mainstream bands putting out total garbage. I would wish death upon them but it would only result in more publicity and sales.

Its like most albums put out these days, it contains no big hits. I personally couldnt see putting out an album unless there was at least one song that I knew was a hit. Its like the latest overhpyed things from people like Prince and Madonna. No hits, just a bunch of nothign special songs.

I considered doing the exact same thing. The problem is that I'm too cheap so I put mine up on E Bay.

I heard the record was weak thats a shame, they have always been very groundbreaking. I guess its hard to keep that edge when you are rich lol.
