Well first there is no God. 2nd, if they want to clone, so be it. It's the next step in human exploration.

The funny thins is, cloning in no way effects any single person that posts here. So why should you care? Does cloning make you lose your job? Does it take away your home? NO!

No offense aCer, and no I don't know you but I would be willing to bet that some guys fucked with mother nature when they leveled the land that your house is built on, or the streets that you drive on.

We have been fucking with mother nature since we evolved.

Yeah, and my 2 MPG truck doesn't affect me.
My CFC hair spray bottles don't affect me.

Oh silly me, I'm thinking about short-term affects. All those long term affects might catch up eventually, but why should I care?

cloning is absolutely irrevelant other than to produce organs for people with discease....

I mean, Take anybody, put em back on earth, they're not going to do the same thing... cuz they won,t be raised the same way, in the same situations, etc..

                    say you clone Bill Clinton...

well, he could well become a manwhore and play in PornMovies.... but wait, he already did part of that

I think it's silly that everyone's so concerned about cloning. They're not going to use it to make a bunch of Hitler's, they're just going to make a new heart for a kid that needs one.

And for all you people who think we're stepping on God's toes, did you see the picture of the ear they grew on the rat? How about the pigs that are growing human organs? God didn't do that.

For that matter, maybe God wants us to have cancer. I mean everyone likes to talk about God's will, but they want to decide where the line is drawn.

Maybe all these religious people that like to tell us how we should live need to pick a side: science vs. religion and stick to it.

cloning does affect people. some couples cannot have kids, and cloning will allow them to.

a clone is not a duplicate. twins, being genetically identical, are the same as comparing the original human being and his or her clone (assuming same age of course).

i'm all for it. clone einstien a thousand times so we can unify the forces once and for all!

Speaking of cloning, did anyone catch the airing of the Peter Graves movie on the Sci Fi Channel Saturday morning on Mystery Science Theatre? I caught the last half of it & I think it was called "Cloneus" or something like that. Anyway the basic plot was using clones for extra body parts. They were said to be "not human."

Kind of makes you think. Personally, if they are going to harvest clone's organs to live past 100 years or whatever, they could at least use the clone's skin too.

As to who should be cloned first, my vote goes Abe Lincoln. Imagine his shock of seeing the modern world (actually, there was a short story in the Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction that had Lincoln time travel to the present day & it was really weird).

I could see using clones in mutation experiments. Who knows if aliens are actually mutated clones from the future trying to warn us not to tamper with cloning.

Headless! Sheesh! What a thought. Must add to shopping list, more ammo!

The second thing the governemts will do after successfully cloning a human will be to pass a law stating that clones are human ya know. And therefore can't be 'harvested'. Odd that the US has laws that specifically state NO to cloning humans. Also thought a lot of other World Powers agreed to that according to the news.

They *have* figured out how to clone organs and such and are refining it to be a practical application now. That should be far enough! (clones supposedly would have every memory of the original so they should be, at the start, an exact duplicate) Who knows what they may grow to after a few years.

Could be right on the alien thing from the future. Who knows!?
