As a seller you pay eBay fees based on what you sell and how you sell it.

here: http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/fees.html

do you have examples of what you can get?

Well, I already knew about those fees, aswell as all the little fees for making ads (i.e. bold text in title, pic gallery made by ebay, etc.).

I won't disclose exactly what all I can get, for obvious reasons, but I will say I can get name brands like ralph lauren, nike, lacoste, von dutch, etc with papers.

I never sold anything on auctions, but my advice is "leave positive feedback just after you get it from the buyer".

Ebay is very played out, and you'll probably be going up against people that can get the stuff twice as cheap as you. I'd stick to it for selling personal stuff and bits of this and that, but wouldn't rely on it as a business. There are better marketplaces out there.

The day when you a solid cluster of reliable and established suppliers to provide you with goods at wholesale prices or below, is the day you should start to think beyond ebay. Now is the time to get your feet wet, though. To be honest, it doesn't matter as long as you break even, as that little experience will go a long way.

Very good advice, but are you sure it's played? I mean, I know of people still making a good $15-20k a month selling shoes on ebay. 1-man type operations.

Regardless, I think i'll still invest a little money and give it a whirl.

btw, liquidation.com sucks, I can get much better deals elsewhere.

I don't think Ebay is played out, depending, of course, on what you're pushing...

But, damn, it is time consuming and the buyers are amongst the most poorly mannered people I've ever had to deal with...

Kitty and I are eBay Power Sellers. We have a less competitve market here in Australia, it's not so flooded and there is still plenty of opportunity. Our buyers prefer to deal with local eBay sellers and because of that and our product range we are growing faster than we imagined.

Yes, as unbelievable as that may seem.

Nice. I honestly believe it's just like any other business venture; try to stay above your competitors and market different things using different strategies.

I think my biggest concern is making sure everyone interested in what i'm offering is equipped to pay online with the different forms of payment (i.e. paypal, etc.)

fuck the naysayers.
