    Do you think a webmaster like Rich should be banned for turning in webmasters to the Dept of Justice on the grounds of obscenity because he disagrees with their political views?

                                  People who make their living from porn should be free to post their views without feeling that someone is willing to threaten their livelihood. It's a form of forced censorship of the worst kind.

                                                          As far as conventions, I've been in the business since 1996. I've been to nearly every major convention since the Orlando conference in 1997. I expect my livelihood to be improved by GFY and not hurt by it. It has been. Much business comes from this board.

                                                              I will be fair, I do know what you mean by the whole bar to GFY comparison... and to a point I agree... however...

                                                              this is a public forum. Sure, it's contained within a given industry, but it's still very much public. Just as much as a public place is... conversations as such are in any public venue should be completely free, under the rule of freedom of speech.

                                                              However, just as what you could say can be used against you in a park or a restaurant or a bar.... it can be here as well.

                                                              Freedom of speech is also freedom of foot in mouth.... which is also freedom to do what ever to the person who just made the speech.

                                                              If you ban him from GFY for doing this, then every other public place of conversation would have to do the same.

                                                              It has nothing to do with my opinions of anyone here or anywhere, even if it was me that someone called the DOJ on... I'd definitely hate that person, but I wouldn't expect the board to ban him.

                                                                      1. I hate boards that ban people -- that's fucking gay. It's easy enough to textually sodomize gerbil stuffers like Rich.

                                                                      2. It's good to have morons like Rich around to share their Bush-Hitler conspiracy theories like "Berg was beheaded by Americans not by Al Qaeda." This keeps all the moderates in check, because as soon as they start getting a left-leaning idea, they realize Rich probably has the same opinion as they do and it dawns on them that they ought to rethink their positions.

                                                                      3. It's always good to know what the fringe nut position is not only for the entertainment value, but also because eventually it will pop up in a Michael Moore movie and we will already have our refutations handy.

If he were to really follow through it would mean that anyone who holds a certain viewpoint would then have to consider not posting on certain topics because of his threats.
