Now release your consciousness and allow it to float. Start to fly around the room with just your mind. Now go through the walls. Your mind can do this even though your physical body can not. See your body is an extension of your mind, your consciouness your soul, not the other way around. At night when you dream you do this easily without even thinking about it. You're able to connect with other souls past and present because you've left the physical world and entered the higher dimensions where everything is based on the mind only without the restrictions and limitations of a body. |

hahaha thanks for the support hun. LOL But on a serious note i have taken lots of time a thought into this subject and it really has lead me to believe we are energy that can not be lost of gained but simply transferred........... for me it took *ego death* to get to the aware-ness level that im presently at :) you hold very good points in this thread! rawk on! |

it sure is |

no energy can be lost or gained,
only converted or transfered congrats you discovered common logic |

You use non physical senses whenever you practise deep meditation or prayer or every night when you "fall" asleep. The very process of falling asleep is you leaving your body. Many people have experienced the paralysis or vibrations that occur at the start of this state. Or the butterflies in stomach feeling on a rollercoaster as our body and soul becomes slightly separated. Society is full of expressions hinting that we are not our bodies. "He was beside himself with rage" "Sorry say that again, my mind was a thousand miles away" etc etc Haven't you been driving to work and wondered if you locked the door or turned off the oven or thinking about something and suddenly realized you don't remember driving the last 10 miles because your mind was somewhere else, yet you still managed to stop at the traffic lights and make the right exit? :) If you watch yourself falling asleep each night, with practise you will become aware that you are indeed pure energy and not that body snoring on the bed. |
lol @ desperate theories of the doomed

I don't think the soul is a mass in the body, I think it is somehow connected within the body but lies in a different dimension. The weight loss thing I have no answer for and it may not mean a thing, but it is interesting. |

Hello?
Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me. Is there anyone home? Come on, now. I hear you're feeling down. Well I can ease your pain, Get you on your feet again. Relax. I need some information first. Just the basic facts, Can you show me where it hurts? There is no pain, you are receding. A distant ship's smoke on the horizon. You are only coming through in waves. Your lips move but I can't hear what you're sayin'. When I was a child I had a fever. My hands felt just like two balloons. Now I got that feeling once again. I can't explain, you would not understand. This is not how I am. I have become comfortably numb. Ok. Just a little pinprick. There'll be no more ...Aaaaaahhhhh! But you may feel a little sick. Can you stand up? I do believe it's working. Good. That'll keep you going for the show. Come on it's time to go. There is no pain, you are receding. A distant ship's smoke on the horizon. You are only coming through in waves. Your lips move but I can't hear what you're sayin'. When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse, Out of the corner of my eye. I turned to look but it was gone. I cannot put my finger on it now. The child is grown, the dream is gone. I have become comfortably numb. |
If this thread proves anything it's that people just have no idea about how complex the human brain is.
When people talk about souls, what they really mean to say is the brain. |

That way it isn't - a pile or crap - a reasonable explanation - a belief but rather a known, something that you know to be real and true because you have first hand experience. Then when someone tells you it's not real, you can respect their opinion but inside know that they might as well have said "the sky isn't blue" or something else that you know to be fact. :thumbsup |
Quote:
EXACTLY!!!!!! the sky isnt blue what is blue.... its just an agreement it means nothing :) |

Everyone with a mind that is. |
I used to believe that the stars and planets in our universe were charged particles inside galaxies (molecules), which made up one large particle inside of a much larger universe. I imagined that our universe was but one tiny bit of matter inside a giant's coffee table in that much larger universe.
Lately I have learned that our universe is expanding at a certain rate, which led me to alter my theory somewhat. I now think that we are a tiny particle inside a piece of chewing gum, and some giant and rather hot teen babe model is blowing a bubble right now in that much larger universe. Since our universe is part of that bubble, our universe expands with the bubble. In the time it takes this giant teen model to blow that bubble and burst it, approximately 450 million of our years are passing. We have about 25 minutes left before the bubble bursts. Who wants to fuck? |

You know, your opinon is but an unproven belief too. You come off sounding like your belief is the only one that could be right, and it's making you look foolish. |
if we are, then the possibilities are endless. qouting "The Beach" by alex garland (not verbatim, but this is how it went)--if you believe that the universe is infinite, then there are infinite possibilites as well.
kinda out of topic, but i got reminded of it. |

And then there are those who believe in things that are real, tangible and part of the physical world. I stopped believing in fairy tales a long time ago. |

The only 'fact' you really should face is that you don't know everything. Until you do, I really am recommending that you quit acting so superior and smug. |

When you resort to the supernatural in an argument or to back up your point of view, you've already lost. |

It is proven you can alter who a person is by altering their brain. It is proven that when you die, your brian rots and insects lay their eggs in it. |

If it turns out we do possess a soul and there is an afterlife, which of us is already wrong? My ultimate point to you is, respect the beliefs of others rather than slamming your opinion down like it is the end-all/be-all. Clear enough? Are you picking up what I'm laying down here? |
Quote:
You can bet on the fairies, I know where my money is. :1orglaugh |

You too sound very superior and smug in what you think you know. I worked in health care for over 15 years, and have witnessed much reality. One former patient is on the books as a documented resurection, having been clinically dead for 20 minutes before reviving. For those whose brains are already being eaten by insects, it means he was dead for 20 minutes. Then he woke up. He lived for several years beyond that death, and he spoke of things he saw during his away time. Bottom line... and I'm not going to continue debating this because on this point I know I am right....... we don't know everything. Three or Four billion people living on this planet right now think there is some sort of god, untold billions of people in history believed the same thing. To say with any certainty that "this is the way it is and all else is for idiots" is certainly a good way to become an empty unfullfilled know-it-all who ends up dying alone. Why? Because people like that are fucking annoying. |

Personally, I choose to believe in a higher power than myself and that there is an afterlife. If I'm wrong there will be no regrets, while if you're wrong......:1orglaugh

I understand. You are entitled to believe any mumbo jumbo you like. Doesn't make it real. |
Do you ever wonder:
What happens to the apple after it falls from the tree? What happens to the fly after you swat it? What happens to the cat after you hit it with your car? What happens to the bird after it dies? What happens to the chimpanzee after it dies? What happens to the dolphin after it dies? |
Quote:
I respect others. You have no such respect. This lack of respect or tolerance for the beliefs of others is common among those who think like you. Is it coincidence? I doubt it. Good luck to you, continued success and all that mumbo jumbo. |
So many young and unenlighted souls here. At least begin to allow your minds to open to the possibilities of the higher dimensions. One day you will understand and it will make sense.

Humans are too arrogant and fragile with their own mortality to believe we are not special enough to not have an afterlife or supreme being watching over us (never mind the arrogance that in this entire vast universe, our crappy little planet is the only place where life exists). It is a crutch used to justify their existence and actions, as well as to hide from their fears. Organized religion exploits this part of human nature, and is the ultimate form of population control. :2 cents:
