This weekend my team had its basbeball game in a very bad area. I mean like broken bottles around the edges of the field, dudes hanging out off left field who looked at me like I was dinner, etc... I was a bit on edge I must admit cuz I'm just a crackerass suburbs boy and when we got there the teams before us were in the middle of clearing up a fight where someone attacked the ump or some shit.
The first inning I hit a double, the next guy walks. The following hitter knocks one to the outfield and I come home... the guy on first comes around hard and tries to slide into home but more falls like a belly flop (and he's safe). The catcher thought this was funny and calls out - joking about how the guy fell over - "Watch out there's a sniper out there!"
Now me being on edge... I don't get he's joking about how the guy flopped down to slide and I take off to duck behind a car. As you can imagine everyone was looking at me.... pretty fucking embarrasing! The one saving grace was that another guy there thought the same thing and he hit the deck too. =]
So make me feel better... someone else tell us somethig really dumb you did!
