How did you all start out in this biz?

I started out as a search engine spammer way back when AV thought a subdomain was a new site and you could submit a almost unlimited number of new site each day.

Is anyone doing the same now a days, I made some really nice cgi scripts that will route your traffic from a large number of sites/pages to the page (sponsor) you like, and you can change end destination by just edit a line in a text file. It will also keep track of the http_refer so you can see which pages are doing good and which need to bee resubmitted.

I made it cause I got tiered of having edit all my pages out there each time I got kicked from a sponsor or found out that they didn?t pay L

I don?t use this script anymore but if someone needs a script like that I have it and are happy to shear with fellow webmasters on this board

Yeah I know this it?s the most moral way to get traffic but if someone surfs to AV and search for the word ?porn? the might swell come to my site smile

Webdesign was my way into this shit
I was building sites for companies once and was wondering how you can make with naked butts on the web. So I tested and tested and lost a lot of cash because I didn't know what "Bandwith" was... Then a CJ site with UCJ 1.3 ... then Cyclejerk.com... Then BlindIO for my site.. 60k...*grin* and then everything went very fast and nowadays I do this for a living and have fun when Tam refuses to talk about her dick..

I too started designed mainstream sites. Designed several personal, one really large site I've had since 1992.

My husband was in the porn industry years ago (no NOT as a star, although he could be one) designing covers for movies and doing litho work and 4-color stripping.

When we met 2 years ago, we talked about getting into it, and finally decided to make the leap mid Decmeber 2000.

We are still learning. I've managed to build up some traffic, but not a lot of sign-ups. Met up with a woman in Canada, and I design and she hosts and we split banner space. I've been building, building building.

I spend about 14 - 16 hrs a day in front of the computer doing this...it has GOTTA work!

I learned how to build sites so I could do my band's site. When teaching wasn't paying enough my MOM suggested I check out porn sites and see how they were working. I got real lucky and started out with a killer free host and legit sponsors.

I started out by doing non-adult sites, building sites for people. I was getting frustrated because everyone loved my work but no one thought it was worth payimg me for. Then I met someone who was doing adult sites and I thought, you know, I could do that. That was a little over 2 years ago and this has since been the longest job I've managed to keep.

I was hating life...working 9-5 as a salesperson, selling industrial power tools. (Ive never used a drill in my life)
On my off time, I created websites for various companies...but not enough to make a living at it.

One day I got a call on my answering machine from my good friend Boneprone saying that he was actually making money with his adult website!

Then started doing freehosting myself, sold that after 2 years and moved on doing livefeeds(Still my core bizz) now I also run paysites, portals resources sites and AVS sites.

well when i was 15 i was a huge warcraft2 addict and i built a kickass warcraft2 site, and it got tons of traffic (almost 300 uniqes a day!) and so i started to put there banners and made like 50$ a month, and then some 28 year old guy saw what im doin and told me that theres no money in making games sites and if i want to make much more i should make xxx sites, so i started to make sites, using the old xxxcity.net host, posting galleries to adult buffet, and from then to now i still submit galleries to tgps
and also have a CJ site

start with 1 gig of RAM
ghz chip
(by the time I get every part they should have a 500 MHZ bus to fully support a GHZ chip or more)
atleast a few terrabytes of hard-drive space,
and a few other things.

But I'm keeping a bit here and there to find an excellent host for under 100 bucks/month if possible.
