Apparently we're the 6th best place in the world to live based on life expectancy, GDP per capita and literacy rate:
For the second year running, Norway has been named as the best place in the world to live, according to an annual report from the United Nations. Norway was followed by Sweden, Canada, Belgium, Australia and the US - but the bottom of the chart is dominated by African countries. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/2149799.stm but of course the author of the article hates America |
America, the land of the free:
Countries with the highest prison population rates in the world Rank Country Prisoners per 100,000 inhabitants 1 Russia 730 2 United States 680 3 Belarus 575 4 Kazakhstan 495 5 Bahamas 485 6 Belize 460 7 Kyrgystan 440 8 Surinam 435 9 Ukraine 430 10 Dominica 420 I'd say we're well off the track, and if we don't get our shit together soon it could get much worse. |

The unmetered capitalism bubble has been expanding and contracting for a while, but it's bursting. Much like the pure socialism bubble burst in the soviet union. The next depression is what it's going to take to finally get the balance between hand-outs and a free market. |

The US does an outstanding job of pointing out the lowest common demoninator around the world, inevitably convincing people that the US is the supreme being. It is similar to telling your wife, "well, I am a good man because I do not beat you." US citizens don't listen, they speak. They are proud to speak, without listening. They jump to conclusions. They think that by reading National Geographic and USA Today that they know the world inside out. I am a US citizen (notice we forget the term American is offensive to many westerners). I DO support our troops, no matter whether or not I agree with the cause. I pay taxes. I do not hate my fellow man. Just because you do not agree with the system, it is not a mark on your integrity. "It is not always the same thing to be a good man and a good citizen." Aristotle, |
Joe I have respect for all countries. I am a fan of Austrialla, it is one of the places I want to visit it soon. From what I understand it is a lot like the US was 100 years ago in many ways.

I am shocked at the amount of ignorant motherfuckers that frequent this place and support the Bush administration. Micheal Moorer isn't a saint, but GW is the fucking devil. You fucking idiots try and say that he isn't patriotic, that he is motivated by money. How many of you all would be in this business if it weren't for the cash? As far as Moorer talking shit about small business. He fucking right. Survival of the fittest. Welcome to America! Shit or get off the pot! :321GFY
