I'm able to get 1.5 megabit down, 768k up, and I've very pleased with that since cable caps upload speeds at 256k!

I have "EXTREME highspeed" cable that they advertise as "over 4mbps download speed", and 800kbps+ upload. I don't know if it go that fast, but it is fast enough for me.

but using netpersec and doing tons of dls, the average is 650ish k

i've been on the cable net for years. tried DSL and was impressed, but went back to cable because the fucking phone just wasn't happy enough with a piece of my business.
