Yeah, I have done it a few times over the years. Painted lots of floors.

You have to clean up ALL the oil and chemical stains first, patch the cracks with the special epoxy, etc etc.

You can do it cheap and fast with a oil based paint, or you can get one of those new garage floor systems, that withstand oil spills. You can even hand toss those little colorded flecks and let them dry, give the garage floor that showroom look.

I did it last year and actually posted a picture on GFY from that stuff.,
Wear a mask, don't inhale or you get seriously high
Don't let your dogs/kids around it

and make sure to ad the nonslip stuff to the epoxy

good luck

Eh, dont paint it.

Tile it with 2' x 2' black and white checkered vinyl squares.

It looks tight.

Mine is done and is very nice. I used Sherwin Williams Tile Clad industrial epoxy. It is recommended that you sand and etch the floor before painting. Prep is very important, as dirt and other contaminants such as petroleum, etc. will cause the epoxy to lift.

Etching the floor is the nastiest part, it requires a ton of ventilation and liberal use of muratic acid.

Once I had everything prepped (which took 3 days), I only spent 45 minutes spraying the floor. It takes about another 3-4 days to set-up and dry completely.

yeah the one i wanna do has those flecks..

My neighbor has it and it looks nice..

Our house is less than 1 year old so there arent too many cracks yet in the garage, and not too dirty yet. SO i think the time is now to do this.

i got a few gallons of that rustoleum garage floor epoxy (with the specs)... is this the stuff you're talking about?

I still haven't gotten around to doing it, but from what I've read you need to pressure / acid wash the floor (to remove any oils, etc) and clean up all the dust/etc as good as possible so that it sticks.

i'll do it one day

always apply clear acrylic concrete sealer first befor painting. the concrete sealer works the the same way as primer on to your car or house. you can pick this up at a homedepot or lowes in your area.

That racedeck is awesome. We're getting ready to do our garage floor with that speckly stuff. I think this is better.

Can you post before and after for your floor BP?

Just make sure its dry before you let anyone walk or drive the car on it.. I had my photo studio floor painted in LA and I thought it was dry to walk on and mucked it all up with footprints.
