    Therein lies the interesting fact of this event; the gesture in question was not the middle finger, but a gesture known in certain circles as "the shocker". Principal Cokefair explained in his letter that the reference was "so horrific" that some students could not even speak of it. His letter explained, "perhaps your child will elaborate when you have a talk about this matter."

                                                  There is a Shockerbus here that people can rent and take to games, parties, etc... It's a big old school bus that's all pimped out with big ol' shocker hand logos on the sides

                                                      I got in trouble for flashing a hang loose sign in a picture of the school 'academic team' when I was in high school.

                                                      I laughed so hard at the teacher that was giving me shit ...

                                                      laughed and laughed in her face.

                                                      She tried to tell me that it could be interpreted as a gang sign.

                                                      I went to a highschool of 400 kids in Lake Tahoe ... not exactly a gang problem up there lol ...

                                                      Some teachers/school administrators are just so fucking anal ... they need the shocker to set 'em straight.

About 6 years ago, when I was there, it became an inside joke to throw each other the shocker. Ever since then I'd heard about other kids using it, now it's everywhere on the internet.
