If you don't know what the deal's with them, make your ICQ # public and hint that you control some nice chunk of traffic. They'll be spamming you on ICQ faster than you can say spam.

they are total idiots on the phone.
i mean really people, your tag team idiocy turns people off. talk straight, no bullshit, i know how to use the signup page - you dont have to walk me through it, don't be so arrogant as to believe one phone call from you will result in my signing up with your program. this is my livelihood - i take it more seriously than that.

they have a spy at the other big toolbar program, i know this for a fact.

they tried this cold call phone call crap on me ( they got my name and number from another toolbar co. ) and acted like total idiots. insulted my intelligence etc. they thought they were going to give me a signup page url and i was just going to sign up right then while on the phone with them. yeah, that's gonna happen. I don't know you, i don't know your company, i wont be signing up based on agro sales tactics - that will in fact keep me from signing up.

The next day they call and get my partner...they tell her that I signed up for them but that there was a problem with the script- it wasnt installing properly.LOL

I guess it won't install properly since i never signed up and never intended to LOL

Basadim that is a fairly strong statement there. Unfortunately is horrible advice. Jacexxx your post is laughable. MediaTickets is growing extraordinarily fast. We are making a great of money for our affiliates and could be making money for you as well. If you don't want to work with a pay per install program that is your right. However to suggest it isn?t an extremely profitable program for webmasters is 100% wrong. To suggest these webmasters are loosing a significant amount of traffic is again wrong. MediaTickets is very successful for a reason. This is because it works as a long term money maker for webmasters.
We have contacted people via ICQ. This is a business here. Everybody on GFY is trying to make money. MediaTickets works and we are happy to be making webmasters a great deal of money. There is nothing wrong with a one time contact to provide information, particularly about a successful program. We did have some level 2 guys contacting people via ICQ excessively, and we have made them stop. As has been explained, due to the generous level 2 payouts, 5 cents for every install of somebody you refer, we have had very excited webmasters promoting Mediatickets. We now keep eye out for any complaints to make sure people are not being bothered. Overall though Mediatickets will make you money and is a great success for Webmasters. Posts suggesting otherwise are 100% wrong and laughably misleading.

BarneyRubble, toolbars?? What are you talking about? Clearly you have no idea. Perhaps you should go do some research before you bad mouth peoples programs. We are a good business for webmasters and users. If you have a problem with pay per install programs that is your right. To recklessly claim that a great revenue stream for webmasters is bad business is quite simply, misleading and ignorant. Also, to claim that we fuck our users is 100% wrong. There is a reason we are succesful. It is becasue users do not mind us and we make money for webmasters.

if your as succesful as you claim, why can't you do a simple thing like secure the .com version of your company name? but that is a trivial point

the fact is, activex autoinstallers are giving the web design community a bad name, and if you feel good about being a purveyor of such deceptive tactics, then that is your right, but frankly I think I speak for the whole of GFY when I say your probably not very welcome here...

You are correct that the .com argument is trivial. There is currently no need for us to switch from www.mediatickets.net. I do respect peoples concerns with activX install programs. However, I strongly disagree with generalizing about a whole industry. MediaTickets is successful and will continue to be for the very concerns you address in your post. Time will tell..but I am sure you will notice along with anybody who follows Mediatickets that we do not harass or bother users. Unlike several other programs out there we make it part of our business model not to harass users, and therefore gain a better reputation among webmasters.

I won't even begin on the larger issue - that spyware etc are totally crippling commerce on the net. I think my thoughts have been well laid out here on GFY in the past.

That being said, I am doing this to make money.

There is room for MediaTickets here at GFY

Welcome to GFY Media Tickets

The active-x auto install is the whole problem...
Let people choose to install it themselfs and not force them into it.
I think for many webmasters is this the biggest issue.

Looking back at the past Auto installing Dailers are a very good example for this problem. It destroys our business at first it will
make you good money but at the end it will do more harm then
good that's my HO.

That's why I hate people like Media Tickets they it seems like
they don't care about the future...

We do not force people to install. People choose to download a Mediaticket to gain access to a website. They have to click yes on the activX. We are concerned about long term business on the web. We make our living on the web as well. That is exactly why we do not abuse users like other programs. Again I don't think people should generalize about the industry.

And then, there's this thing called MediaTickets; I haven't a clue what it is. For all I know it is an announcement that I've won the Bill Gates Powerball contest and merely have to press button A to have $10,000,000 deposited in my account, or altenatively it may be the .exe file for launching Word. However, I've deleted it a dozen or so times and it keeps coming back.
oh yeah, you all care

You clearly know little about our program. Our system only allows webmasters to show a Mediaticket 3 times. They can show it only once if they choose. If it apears anywhere else more than three times a webmaster has literally altered our code.

Mediatickets may be pushy, but their program converts traffic great and they always pay on time.

They don't offer an autoinstall code. There are people selling that code and one was made public recently though.

Mediatickets are the biggets bunch of spammers I have eve come across, and I have been in this industry for a long time. First they spam my email, then one of their reps has the balls to start spamming me on icq. I tell him I am not interested, then 4 days later, I get spammed by a different mediaticket rep.

to top it all off, one of my friends used them heavily for 4 days in a row, didn't make jack shit. not only are they a bunch of crooked spammers, their product sucks too.

they're good. and they fucking convert ENTERTAINMENT traffic.

say what you wanna say, but popups are fucking dead as dead gets.

activex is the new shit, but it won't last long either. i bet you
the new IE will have this shit canned, just like Opera.

who the fuck are you to judge how they make their money? if
there is demand for ActiveX popups (webmasters create this
demand), then they are fucking right to step in and provide the
service.

i don't give a shit what they do as long as they pay on time,
and they sure as hell do!
