Comcast blocking port 25 (i.e. email port)

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...2004Jun11.html

jesus christ, did it take them a decade to come up with this solution?

all ISP's should be blocking port 25 on all residential subscribers. everyone should be using the smtp servers anyway.

thats fucking stupid.

I dont want to use the ISP's SMTP servers - thats bullshit.

I have a domain, with my own email server running for a reason.

I am on comcast, and I have not noticed that happen yet and if it does im taking down the whole fucking east coast.

I won't say which port, but there are Other Ports on a server you can send email through, ask your host. I had this happen to me a couple of years ago with a Suck Ass ISP, blocked port 25 so I couldn't send email through my server, one quick phone call, change port settings, Bam... Email sends again (just not through port 25).

Just my
